Destiny 2 Has A Serious Problem Akin to Craftening
The Destiny 2 community recently celebrated the 2nd anniversary of the Craftening. For those who missed it, players were able to combine different weapon archetypes to create arsenals that would make the Nine scared. Bungie allowed the bug to persist over the weekend, giving players ample time to decimate every activity in the game. Destiny 2 players have new ways to crush activities, but this time, to a lesser extent than the Craftening. The exploits are game-breaking and will make light work of any activity you play.
Destiny 2 Sturm Bug
In the recent Ash and Iron update, Bungie updated a handful of exotics, one being Sturm. The new Sturm gave it more room to be usable in the Destiny 2 meta. However, neither Bungie nor the community would realise how much of an imprint it would make until testing. Players quickly noticed that Sturm was bugged. There are two parts to this bug. The first is that any sidearm, including rocket-assisted frames, grants Sturm Overcharge stacks. The next part is that if players hold Sturm in their hands with at least one stack, all ability damage is increased significantly. It has allowed players to solo bosses like Crota or the Herald from Salvation’s Edge in one phase.
Destiny 2 Lightweight Sword Bug
We all believed that the Sturm bug was the most broken element in Destiny 2. However, a new bug that would eclipse it was discovered. Lightweight frame swords are dealing absurd damage numbers. Specifically for this bug, your Lightweight Sword must have no ammo. The next part is vital. You must jump and light attack with the ammoless sword. Doing so will increase your sword damage significantly. It has made the Sturm bug seem like a joke. If you want to optimize your damage to one-shot raid bosses, ensure that your melee stat is at the highest possible. The reason for this is that a Wword swing without ammo counts as an unpowered melee.
Bungie Seems to be Allowing It
Bungie is well aware of the Sturm bug. They have disabled Sturm in PvP, but allowed it to function in PvE spaces. The Lightweight Sword bug is a more recent discovery. Bungie might deactivate Lightweight Frame Swords in the future. But for now, launch up any activity you want and go to town on your foes.
