Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage Day Three: TES Fail While AL Recover

Two teams have secured their spots in the Worlds Quarterfinals. KT Rolster took their rollercoaster ride to new heights to win their series against Top Esports. The LPL third seed did not perform against their toughest competition of the Swiss Stage so far. CTBC Flying Oyster challenged Anyone’s Legend in a rematch from MSI. CFO started well, but AL woke up to move on to the Quarterfinals of Worlds.

Worlds 2025: KT Rolster Versus Top Esports

CFO came out of the block fighting in game one. Having subbed in Rest to play Sion and putting Kaiwing on Nami caused doubts for the LCP roster. Both players delivered to help their team gain a lead. The loss made AL wake up in the rest of the series, and their teamfighting prowess took over in games two and three. CFO put up a fight, but it was not enough to send them through. CFO did not sub in Driver, making it their first series of the year without changing their top laner. Many wonder if playing Driver for most of the series would have made a difference, given he is a better overall player than Rest.

KT and AL have earned themselves a two-week break heading into the Quarterfinals of Worlds. They can scrim with less stress and keep an eye on how other teams perform. They can practice changes in meta without revealing what their reads are on stage. However, previous 3-0 teams have struggled to perform in the Worlds’ Quarterfinals due to their lack of practice on stage.
