Techland Will Return to Dying Light 2 Updates and Asks the Community for Feedback
Dying Light: The Beast comes out after Dying Light 2, and has recieved generally positive reviews from the community. It’s been out for a couple of months now, and Techland wants to get back on updating Dying Light 2, according to franchise director Tymon Smektala in an X post. Here are all the details you should know.
Dying Light 2 Will Get Updates Soon
According to franchise director Tymon Smektala, Techland would like to continue updating Dying Light 2, now that Dying Light: The Beast has had a pretty successful run. Tymon Smektala asks the community what it would like to see prioritized within the next several months. This suggests that Techland has a lot of content planned for the game. It isn’t clear what kinds of updates Techland will be implementing, and I believe it’s because they really value the feedback the community would provide to get a better idea of how to make Dying Light 2 even better and more entertaining.
Techland Asks What the Community Thinks They Should Work On
According to the X post, Smektala states,
“As The Beast was released we can now move more people to support DL2:SH as promised. What are the most important things we should handle? What kind of content/updates/fixes you’d expect right now or in 3-6 months?”
Here are some responses from users within the Dying Light community that have already responded to Smektala’s post:
“A damn fix for dying light the beast where you guys fix the bug on PS5 where there is a long black loading screen like I haven’t got to play the game at all when it release and still can’t”
“I heard somewhere that there are no police stations, schools, fire stations etc in DL2, maybe adding more of those general facilities could help with immersion that villedor is a real city and not just a bunch of skyscrapers.”
“- LOD Upgrade with ability to tweak all settings for creating them and having it generate details properly. Current tool is broken and does not work as intended. – (rigged) mesh import, and mesh replacement (replacing retail meshes)”
“I’d say shift your resources to DLTB such as bringing a lot more gameplay content, more finishers, new missions, story expansions, perfect optimisation, crossplay between all the platforms etc. I think focusing on DL2 would be a waste of resources, as DLTB is a whole lot better.”
What do you think? What kinds of updates should Techland implement or work on in the next few months that would add value to Dying Light 2?
