Battlefield 6 Is Already Working On Bigger Maps Amid Concerns and Backlash from the Community

Battlefield 6 has had a very successful first month since launching in October, especially in terms of market presence in the FPS shooter category. However, since coming out, players have experienced several issues, leaving them dissatisfied, and turning to social media to express their frustrations. One of the biggest complaints is about map sizes, and players have been complaining about small maps since the game’s launch. Here’s what DICE has to say about everything.

Battlefield 6 is Getting Bigger Maps

Though Battlefield 6 has had an incredible launch, from selling more than 10 million copies of the game to having one of the largest concurrent player counts on Steam on launch day, there have been several complaints made about the game by fans. One being the sizes of the maps. Battlefield map sizes are known to be incredibly large, large enough to host 100 different players in one match. DICE had even promoted that Battlefield 6 maps would be some of the largest in the franchise. However, players were dissatisfied with the sizes of the maps, feeling they were too small and unconventional to traverse to be considered a Battlefield map.

DICE has listened to players’ concerns and has confirmed in a recent blog post that they will be adding a new map that will address this specific issue for players. The map is currently in the works and will appear in the next major update for the game. However, this news comes with no official launch date for the update or when we should expect the new map.

However, There’s Still No Launch Date for Them

According to the blog post written by the Battlefield team on the EA website, the devs are addressing the concerns players have had about the game over the past month and are working on implementing updates that will satisfy players going forward. Here are a few excerpts from the post addressing concerns about map sizes:

“We have seen your comments about map size and pacing,”

“Battlefield is at its best when maps offer different ways to play and constant action around every corner. Striking that balance is always a priority, and we are committed to a variety of map types across future Seasons.

“With Eastwood arriving in the California Resistance Update, we will continue monitoring existing maps and modes for targeted adjustments (like what’s planned in Winter Offensive) while also learning from community creations in Portal.”
