We are halfway through the majors in the Call of Duty League. Major III qualifiers have started up, and the first match of the weekend involved the Major II champions, Atlanta Faze. They continued their dominance over the Minnesota Rokkr with a 3-0 win.
Call Of Duty League: Atlanta Faze Suffocates Rokkr
The series kicked off with Hardpoint on Vista. Minnesota’s new look roster looked to upset the reigning major champs and looked good in the first half of the match. They were controlling the hardpoints, rotating well, and chaining together hills. However, Atlanta Faze hung around as they usually do and took the first map. The rest of the series wasn’t close.
Faze took the Search And Destroy round 6-1 and followed it up with a 3-1 victory on Control. It moved the CDL leaders to 20-4 on the season, solidifying their spot at the top. How were they so dominant? It was the duo of Abezy and Simp.
Call Of Duty League: Tiny Terrors Shine In 3-0 Sweep
Part of the reason Rokkr was able to hang around in the first half of the Hardpoint is Simp didn’t have it going. Halfway through the game, he sat at 7/14. Any time a player is double negative, it usually doesn’t bode well for the team. However, he went on an absolute tear to end the match. The former MVP went 20/8 the rest of the way to end the match positive at 27/22 with a team-high 20 non-traded kills.
Abezy had an even better Hardpoint match. His 30/26 with 18 non-traded kills was just as impressive as Simp. Opposing teams aren’t going to win many matches with those types of numbers from the Tiny Terrors. Rokkr never recovered from that performance. Everyone on Atlanta Faze was positive in the Search And Destroy, while everyone on Minnesota was negative.
The Call of Duty League is in full swing, and it looks like Atlanta Faze is the best team to beat. They have come up short the past two years but look to be the favorites in 2024.
