Miami Heretics Dominate Search And Destroy Rounds; Beat Boston Breach In Major III Qualifiers

The Miami Heretics started out as one of the hottest teams in the Call of Duty League. While they have cooled off, they still sit in the top eight in the standings. There is little room for error as four teams are clamoring to get into the top eight for a chance at championship weekend. They kicked off their Major III campaign against the Boston Breach, one of those teams chasing them. Miami dominated the Search and Destroy Rounds en route to a 3-2 victory.

Boston had a new look roster, and at times, they looked much better. In the opening Hardpoint, Breach looked like a new team. Snoopy led the way with 33 kills, and newcomer Beans also hit the 30-kill mark. Snoopy and Beans continued their dominance in the Search and Destroy round, but it wasn’t quite enough. Boston took a 5-4 lead, but the Miami Heretics dominated the next two rounds to take it 6-5.

Miami struggled in the Control round but bounced back in the Hardpoint leaving it down to another Search And Destroy round. Reeal went off going 11/4, with Lucky and Vikul supporting with 9/4 and 7/5, respectively. It wasn’t a pretty victory, but it was a necessary one. Losing to the Boston Breach would have been a rough start to the Major III qualifiers.

Questions For The Miami Heretics

Vikul started out very slow for the Miami Heretics and easily could have cost them the match. He went double negative (13/28) in the opening Rio Hardpoint. Vikul’s struggles continued in the first Search and Destroy round, going 3/7. If not for Lucky and Reeal, the team could have been in a 0-2 hole. He started to improve in the Control round, only going 15/20. From there, he heated up, but it took him a bit.

The Miami Heretics have to have better starts. Performances like this are okay against Boston Breach, who currently sit last in the CDL standings, but not against better teams. Still, a win is a win, and the Heretics will now prepare for their next qualifying match against Toronto Ultra on Friday.
