Battlefield 6 Patch Notes: Defibrillator Hitboxes, Sabotage Timer, Challenge Tweaks

Battlefield 6 just got a backend patch that quietly fixes some of the most annoying issues from the California Resistance update—including defibrillator hitboxes, sabotage mode delays, and challenge descriptions that made no sense. No download required. Just log in and let the server-side magic do its thing.

The last update made reviving teammates feel like threading a needle underwater. Defibrillators were way too picky—requiring pinpoint accuracy and perfect range. This patch brings them back in line with how they used to feel. Hitboxes and range have been expanded, so you can actually revive someone without performing a surgical strike.

Battlefield 6 Sabotage Mode Gets a Timer Tune-Up

Sabotage mode had a weird bug during side swaps: a 60-second delay that clashed with Battlefield’s AFK kick system. Players were getting booted mid-match just for waiting. DICE bumped the AFK timer to 180 seconds and temporarily disabled bot backfilling in Sabotage. That means fewer filler squads and more real chaos—at least until the next update reintroduces bots.

Challenge Cleanup

Battlefield 6’s challenge system has been a mess of vague descriptions and impossible criteria. This patch updates over 90 challenges and assignments, making them clearer and more achievable. Some highlights:

  • Recon 2: Headshots beyond 150m → now 75m.
  • Recon Expert 3: Headshot kills beyond 200m → now 125m.
  • Deadeye 2: Sniper headshots over 200m → now 125m.
  • Engineer 3: Removed entirely (good riddance).
  • Rapid Fire 2: Assault rifle kills beyond 50m → now 40m.

Basically, if you’ve been rage-quitting over challenge tracking, this patch might save your sanity.

Final Thoughts

This isn’t a flashy update—but it’s a necessary one. Battlefield 6’s mid-season refresh came with friction, and this patch smooths out the worst of it. With double XP active this weekend, it’s the perfect time to grind out gear, unlock attachments, and test the new defib hitboxes in the wild.
