Destiny 2 Dawning 2025 Event Guide – Participating in the Winter Event
The Dawning Event in Destiny 2 has arrived. With the event comes more baking, more rewards, and a brand new game mode. Snowball fights have finally arrived in Destiny 2. Players can line up with their fellow Guardians against six enemy Guardians holding only Snowballs. Two new characters in the Destiny universe can receive Cookies, including your favorite good boy, Archie.
Dawning Event Quest Guide
To get players acquainted with the Dawning event, there are a handful of quest steps they must complete:
- Speak to Eva in the Tower
- Bake and deliver Gjallardoodles for Zavala
- Return to Eva in the Tower
- Purchase Your First Upgrade
- Complete a Match of Dawning Snowball fight
- Claim the First Event Reward for the Reward Pass
- Return to Eva in the Tower
- Bake and deliver Dark Matter Drizzlers to Dean Rebecca

Cookies
All Cookies require 15 Dawning Essence to bake along with specific ingredients. Masterworking the oven reduces the Essence cost to 10.

- Earn Ingredients from completing Orders and Dawning Daily Challenges.

- Earn a small amount of Dawning Essence by completing Orders and Dawning Daily Challenges.
Snowball – Not Applicable in the Crucible
- Long Winter
- Increases the duration of slow effects applied by snowballs.
- Longer Winter
- Increases the amount of slow effects applied to targets damaged by Snowballs
- Stay Frosty
- Snowballs leave a Stasis Mine on impact.
- Gift That Keeps on Giving
- Shattering Frozen targets causes them to drop Snowballs.
- Longest Winter
- Snowballs instantly freeze targets damaged by them.
Weapons
There are three Weapons up for grabs during the 2025 event. They will all drop one tier higher than usual.
- Mistral Rift: Adaptive Frame Void Linear Fusion Rifle
- Permafrost: Wave-Frame Stasis Grenade Launcher
- Fimbulwinter Stitch: Precision Frame Arc Sidearm
Star Baker Seal
There are twelve triumphs in total. Completing the first eight grants the Seal. You can finish the additional four to gild your Star Baker Title.

- Acquire all upgrades during the Dawning.
- God-Tier Gift Giver (Gilding)
