In the Grandmaster Vanguard Alert version of this Destiny 2 activity, you will encounter Overload and Unstoppable Champions. Ensure that you are well-equipped to deal with them. The opening area will not prove to be difficult. Approach it slowly, knocking off enemies one by one. If you do get close, be wary of Cabal Drop Pods crushing you.

Once you teleport into the Ascendant Plane, take out the enemies on the periphery and work towards the Overload Hobgoblin as the final enemy. Be wary of the Blights and spinning Orbs as you progress through the narrow path. Keep your distance in the next section and prioritize the Wizards and Unstoppable Champion when they peak their heads out. Once all the enemies are cleared, hop on top of the Blight and destroy it.

The first boss area will prove to be a challenge. Work your way through the enemies to trigger the boss phase. Only ignite the balefire once all enemies are dead. When the boss is damageable, watch out for his attacks; they can wipe out a fireteam in seconds.

After you eliminate a third of the boss’s health, Overload Hobgoblins spawn on the top left platform. Kill them as soon as possible. Eliminate the enemies, prioritizing the Unstoppable Phalanx. The boss will fire at you during this phase. Once the majority of enemies are dead, clear the Blight and ignite the balefire. Repeat the process for the second third of his health. More Overload Hobgoblins will spawn on the top right platforms. Continue and eventually kill the boss.

The final boss is tricky. Always prioritize killing enemies over damaging the boss. Also, ensure the area is clear before picking a Taken Essence. Pay attention to the Safeguarded timer when you are outside the bubble. Any unnecessary damage from the debuff could cause death. The Wizards and Overload Hobgoblins should be your number one priority. Play safely and cautiously until you kill the boss and clear the GM.

Destiny 2 Loadout Recommendations

While there is no Match Game for this activity, bringing a Void Weapon will help to clear the shields. Le Monarque is incredible here due to its range and ability to stun Overloads. Burst damage supers and weapons are recommended to deal with champions more than the bosses. Otherwise, you can run roaming supers to clear out enemies.

Hunter’s invisibility will prove to be a dream in the final boss area. You can grab the Essence without attracting enemy attention. Void Hunter is not ideal, but you can get away with it. Alternatively, you can run Prismatic Hunter with Stylish Executioner, which can also work well. Warlocks with Getaway Artist will keep all enemies contained. If you want to nuke your enemies, Contraverse Hold with Magnetic Nades will do just that. For Titans, we recommend that you run Prismatic Titan with Wormgod’s Carress and Consecration. Another alternative is Void Titan with Choir of One and Actium War Rig.
