Destiny 2 Renegades Livestream: Star Wars Comes to Destiny 2
We are a week away from the launch of Destiny 2 Renegades. Bungie hosted a livestream to introduce the new expansion to the community. The ViDoc dived into the behind-the-scenes action of the expansion. We also got to see more details for the two activities in Renegades: Lawless Frontier and Invasions. The feel from the livestream gave a perfect mix of Destiny 2 and Star Wars coming together.
Destiny 2 Renegades ViDoc
The ViDoc gave us insight into the making of Renegades. The passion from the developers was clearly on show. From the weapons to the story to the aesthetics, and finally the music, everything feels Star Wars. The only concern would be if it aligns with what we have come to love in Destiny 2.
Lawless Frontier
One of the activities in Destiny 2: Renegades is the Lawless Frontier. Players will complete bounty hunter, sabotage, and smuggling missions. The location of these activities is Europa, Mars, and Venus. Players will have access to the Renegades’ abilities like supply drops and calling down Walkers. The supply drops act like Cabal drop pods; they can crush enemies and allies when they drop in. Players will have increased health but no base health regeneration. You must complete the activity within a time limit. It will also become more difficult as you complete objectives.
Invasion
Invasion is similar to Lawless Frontier, but with a catch. Invasion is a PvPvE game mode. One player invades, similar to Gambit, to stop their opponents from completing their mission. Invaders work with the AI combatants. To enter an Invasion, you must own Deathmarks. You can wager your Deathmarks, up to three, to increase your rewards. The more kills you get as the invader, the better your rewards will be.
Praxic Blade
Players will earn the Praxic Blade (lightsaber) during the campaign. In the post-campaign, you can unlock ways to customize your Blade, from the Blade colour to catalysts and more.
Portal and Rewards
The Renegades expansion is bringing rewards to the Portal. Players can earn new weapons and armor sets from the various activities. One of the weapons teased is the Riptide returning to the Crucible. Players can expect a Rocket Frame Arc Pulse Rifle to add to their arsenal from Solo and Fireteam Ops.
Equilibrium Dungeon
For those who missed it, Equilibrium goes live on December 13th at 9:00 AM PT. Contest mode will be available for the first 48 hours of the launch. Once the World’s First completion is confirmed, the Normal version of the dungeon will launch.
Dawning Event
Shortly into the Renegades’ expansion, the Dawning event will go live. Players can bake cookies to give to their favorite vendor and earn cosmetics, weapons, and armor sets.
