This Week in Destiny Brings Joy to Destiny 2 Players

The information in the This Week in Destiny (TWID) post was shorter this week for Destiny 2. But with fewer words, you can bring better news. The blog post serves as proof, with its contents having a significant impact on players. Most notably, the firing range will become available sooner than initially announced, and we are gaining more ways to drop Rite of the Nine weapons.

Ada-1 and Banshee-44 Updates

Ada-1

Ada’s bounties are receiving updates. All but the raid and dungeon bounties are becoming more flexible in the Edge of Fate.

Ada will also provide ways for players to focus on Exotic armor at the start of the Edge of Fate. Players get a new currency (number not specified) to focus on armor with stat packages. Players must play Destiny 2 before the release of the expansion to earn the currency.

Banshee-44

Banshee-44 will sell legacy weapons for players to purchase. The exact legacy weapons are not known, but players might have the chance to pick up weapons they missed. All of these weapons cost Enhancement Cores and Glimmer.

Shooting Range

Originally, Bungie intended to release the Shooting Range three weeks into the Edge of Fate expansion. Most likely, given player feedback, they are instead releasing the Shooting Range at the beginning of the expansion. Players will have the chance to test new weapons and builds from the get-go.

Iron Banner and Crucible

Iron Banner is going on hiatus in the Edge of Fate until September with the release of the Ash and Iron update. Heavy Metal will return for Destiny 2, along with the Trials of Osiris, getting more weapons and armor. More details on the PvP side are coming in future updates.

A new PvP playlist game mode is arriving in the Edge of Fate: Cutting Edge. In Cutting Edge, players can only use featured Seasonal weapons, armor, and Exotics against other players. The hope is that the new mode should shake up the PvP meta and introduce new combinations in Destiny 2.

Gambit

Gambit will remain a live activity in the Edge of Fate. However, it is going on a hiatus. The game mode will not receive updates for a while. It is not all terrible for Gambit players. The team is working on updating the game mode in the future with new rewards and mechanics that players have not seen since the Gambit Prime days.
