Exciting New Look at High on Life 2 Gameplay
High on Life 2 is the sequel to the titular action comedy, and developer Squanch Games has just revealed a first look at the game’s campaign gameplay on IGN’s official YouTube channel. So, how does High on Life 2 continue the story of the first game? Here’s all you need to know about the first 10 minutes of the game and all that was shown during this first look.
High on Life Continues Its Comedic Action in High on Life 2
My first time encountering High on Life was not what I had expected it to be. I’d never heard of the game before, and had gone in completely blind to it. I had such an amazing time with the game. The humor was top-notch notch and so in my alley, the action was pretty intense, and really fun, and despite how the game seemed to be making fun of itself in a raunchy way, the story was actually pretty solid.
The first installment of this sci-fi-inspired game ended with the protagonist defeating the alien cartel that took the people of Earth hostage, freeing everyone, finding love, and saving the world. High on Life 2 seamlessly continues the story of the first game, where the main protagonist now has to save his sister from a mysterious figure from his past.
First 10 Minutes of Gameplay
Squanch Games released the first 10 minutes of gameplay on IGN’s official YouTube channel, where we get an even deeper look at the game and some new mechanics we can look forward to in this installment. It showcases Pinkline Harbor, one of the three in-game hubs players will encounter earlier in the game.
The player meets two guards while holding the same guns we saw in the previous gameplay trailer. The conversation options differ depending on the weapons they have, with each gun providing a response that suits their personality. We see a lot of gameplay with the new skateboard we are using to travel and get around the map. It’s a pretty cool mechanic that was added to the game, which I’m sure players and fans will love.
The campaign ends once the player reaches Pinkbellies Bar and Grill. To get this location, we see the player find and use two Lugblobs to open the door. High on Life 2 is set to release in February of next year, and slowly but surely, Squanch Games is releasing more details on what we can expect in this installment. The game is now available to pre-order on all platforms.
