League Next: A Complete League of Legends Overhaul Arriving in 2027
League of Legends has long needed an overhaul of its client and visuals. Many speculated that League 2 would come out in the near future. Riot published a quick dev update to let us know of the plans for 2027. League Next is the codename for upcoming updates. League 2 is not coming, but we are getting a new client along with gameplay and visual updates. Riot is keeping the details hidden for now, but the community is already excited.
League Next: A New Client
Currently, the League client is separate from the game. Because of the separation, issues have arisen. One of those has been players losing their runes or getting random ones. The limiting factor behind this decision has held League of Legends back for years. The updated client launches in 2027. The update will see an all-around game client that is integrated with the in-game experience. The community is celebrating the change. They have requested an updated client for years to help with the gameplay experience.

Is League New League of Legends 2?
Riot Pabro said that they have no plans to make a League 2. But the announced changes are the closest we will get to a new League of Legends game.
