Two League of Legends Items Return in Season 16 Causing Mass Excitement
Hextech Gunblade and Stormrazor are returning to League of Legends. The Season 16 update brings multiple new items, item reworks, and the aforementioned returning items. After a brief hiatus, Luden’s Echo is back, taking the place of Luden’s Companion. In total, nine new items are coming to League of Legends, with many of them fulfilling a niche that was not in the previous item set.
New Items in League of Legends

The nine items in Season 16 of League of Legends are:
- Dusk and Dawn – AP Fighter Sheen Item
- Fiendhunter Bolts – Marksmen Attack Speed Item
- Endless Hunger – AD Fighter Omnivamp Item
- Bastionbreaker – AD Assassin Split-push Item
- Actualizer – AP Active Mana-stacking Item
- Hexoptics C44 – Long Range Marksmen Item
- Bandlepipes – Tank Support Attack Speed Item
- Protoplasm Harness – Tank Lifeline Item
- Whispering Circlet/Diadem of Songs – Support Tear Item
Dusk and Dawn
Dusk and Dawn is an AP Fighter-focused item. While AP-fighters have access to Lich Bane and Nashor’s tooth, neither gives defensive stats. Dusk and Dawn is a tankier version of those items combined.
Fiendhunter Bolts
Fiendhunter Bolts is another Zeal-based item. It focuses on attack speed Marksmen who want to use their ultimate mid-fight. Think of the likes of Zeri, Twitch, Yunara, or on-hit Varus. It grants the champion Ultimate Haste, and after casting your ultimate, additional attack speed and damage.
Endless Hunger
Endless Hunger fills a void that AD Fighters miss, an omnivamp item. It has built-in Tenacity and Omnivamp. Upon securing a takedown, champions gain additional omnivamp for a duration.
Bastionbreaker
Pushing towers is not an Assassin’s strong suit. Bastionbreaker grants them that opportunity. However, they must secure a takedown on a champion shortly after taking damage from them to activate the perk. Once activated, the next attack against an epic monster or tower deals additional damage. The item also grants additional True damage against champions or epic monsters with abilities.
Actualizer
Actualizer is an active item that builds towards mana stacking. Tear items are no longer exclusive in Season 16. The active causes spells to cost more mana. It gives additional ability damage, healing, and shielding, and causes basic ability cooldowns to progress faster.
Hexoptics C44
Hexoptics is ideal for long-range Marksmen. The further away from a target, the more the attacks will deal. Takedowns against a champion within three seconds of damaging them increase the champion’s attack range.
Bandlepipes
Slowing or immobilizing a champion grants Fanfare. While Fanfare is active, champions gain additional movement speed and boost nearby allies’ attack speed, including themselves.
Protoplasm Harness
Protoplasm Harness grants additional healing when the wearer drops below the threshold. While the champion regenerates health, they gain increased size, movement speed, and tenacity. The item has similar, but weaker effects than Dr. Mundo’s Maximum Overdose.
Whispering Circlet/ Diadem of Songs
Whiserping Circlet/Diadem of Songs are Tear-based evolving items. At 360 stacks, Whispering Circlet becomes Diadem of Songs. Whispering Circlet grants additional heal and shield power based on bonus mana. Diadem of Songs has that benefit, but also heals the lowest health nearby ally champion. The healing activates if the caster or ally is in combat with champions for a duration.
Returning League of Legends Items

Hextech Gunblade and Stormrazor are the returning items for League of Legends in Season 16
Hextech Gunblade
Hextech Gunblade is back, and better than ever! It returns as an AD and AP hybrid item with Omnivamp. The active part of Gunblade returns as well. Upon activation, it shocks enemy champions, dealing damage and slowing them for a duration.
Stormrazor
Stormrazor is nearly identical to its previous counterpart. It grants a champion AD, attack speed, Critical Strike Chance, and an energized attack that deals additional damage. The attack also grants movement speed.
Tear and Omnivamp Changes
In Season 16 of League of Legends, all tear items are no longer exclusive. It means that you can build the new tear support item, alongside Seraph’s Embrace, Muramana, and Fimbulwinter. The active mana item will work ideally with these setups.
Omnivamp, on the other hand, applies all of its value, but is reduced against, with dot damage, and AoE spells against Minions. Doran’s Blade sees its Omnivamp return, making it a better option for Jack of All Trades League of Legends users.
