Moebius Quiver Tether is Bugged in Destiny 2: Here’s How to Replicate It
Players have discovered a new bug in Destiny 2. Moebius Quiver, the Hunter Void Super, is bugged. The bug allows players to deal significantly increased damage with bow-based weapons. The increase is not as game-breaking as the Slashening during Ash and Iron. However, players have started using the bug to solo bosses. One of these is the Witness, who previously required more setup to take down than merely firing a bow.
Why Has This Happened?
At the beginning of Renegades, Bungie buffed Moebius Quiver. After casting Moebius Quiver, dealing subsequent damage would increase the damage of the tether of bows. The increase would fall off once the Super ended. The intention was to create a different damage option for Hunters. However, the weakness of the Void subclass meant players were not enthusiastic for the changes. Many preferred Lucky Pants builds with Prismatic Hunter instead.
How to Replicate the Moebius Quiver Bug
Some bugs in Destiny 2 happen naturally, while others require some legwork. The Moebius Quiver bug is not impossible to replicate, but it does require timing. Before starting an encounter, ensure you already have a complete Super bar and no rally flag has been placed. The Void Hunter must be the one to place down the rally flag. As soon as the interact bar is nearly filled for placing the rally flag, activate your Super.
If done correctly, you will not consume your Super and gain the Moebius Quiver buff bar on the left-hand side of your screen. From this point, your only requirements are to deal damage and never die. Added to that, do not use your Moebius Quiver again; otherwise, you lose the buff when the Super runs out.
Is This Bug Problematic?

As far as bugs go in Destiny 2, it is not the most egregious one. Bosses are not falling over in seconds, and it is not making light work of every activity. The rally flag requirement means there are a select few activities where you can even utilize the bug. Conquests without rally flags, the Lawless Frontier, Solo, and Fireteam Ops are unaffected by this bug. However, that does not mean it should exist in the game forever. It is not a harmless bug and is shaping the way you play the game in a pejorative way.
What Have Players Accomplished?
Players have been able to solo the Witness with this bug, utilizing Leviathan’s Breath as the damage option. Previous iterations of Solo Witness have required a rotation of some kind to achieve. For this use case, players only need to fire Leviathan’s Breath at him. Bringing a Shoot to Loot Hand Cannon, like Vulpecula, will help to find ammo during the damage phase.
Will Bungie Fix The Bug?
The likelihood is high. The bug forces players to play in a way that is not the intended purpose. Bungie wants you to use your Super for damage. It is making Hunters do more than intended for little investment. When the bug gets fixed is still to be determined. It could take days or weeks, depending on the fix. Most employees should return to work after the holidays, allowing Bungie to find a solution quicker.
What Will Happen to Moebius Quiver After the Fix?
Before the bug was discovered, players found a rotation to utilize the change to Moebius Quiver. Will the rotation become the meta standard for all Hunters in Raids and Dungeons? Unlikely, but if you have multiple Hunters in the team, it would not hurt to have one of them run the rotation. The debuff from Moebius Quiver will allow your entire team to deal more damage to the bosses.
