Overwatch 2: Stadium Trailer Reveal Shows An Abundance of Content
Season 16 of Overwatch 2 is mere days away, and now we have the Official Trailer. The name of Season 16 is Stadium, the same as the new game mode coming in the update. Stadium is not the only content released in Season 16, and the trailer shows off what players can expect when logging into Overwatch 2 for Season 16. Let us dive deeper into what the trailer revealed.
Overwatch 2 Stadium

There has been much talk about the Stadium game mode in the past few days, and if you want to catch up on any of the information, look at our past articles. These articles detail all you need to know for the upcoming game mode. For those who want a TL: DR, Stadium is a 5v5 competitive mode with a best-of-seven format. Players select one hero for the entire match and will gain access to Items and Powers, which allow them to customize their hero in new ways. Stadium has a ranked system included, so get ready to ascend to the top in Stadium!
Hero Bans
For the first time in the game’s lifespan, Hero Bans are coming to Overwatch 2. We have seen previous iterations where banned heroes were on a weekly rotation. However, there has never been a situation where players influence the Hero Bans. Upon loading into a match, players nominate three heroes they want to ban. Once the process is complete, the hero with the most nominations on a team will not be pickable for that map. The addition excites players as they can remove pesky heroes from their competitive games.
New Hero: Freja
Another addition in Season 16 is the Danish Hunter, Freja. For many, this will not be the first time they encounter the Hunter, as players had a chance to playtest her on the weekend of March 21st. As announced in Associate Director Alec Dawson’s Director’s Take, Freja is getting buffs to her kit. More specifically, her Revdraw Crossbow will now fire twelve bolts before reaching maximum spread (up from eight), and her ultimate, Bola Shot, deals extra damage over time and has a larger radius. New Skins Revealed
Season 16 sees a wholesale addition to the Skin options for players. First and foremost, the Dokiwatch Collab skins are here. Freja, Widowmaker, Brigitte, Kiriko, and Juno receive the Dokiwatch skins. Juno’s skin is the new mythic skin for the season, with multiple color variations. Mercy gets the Mythic weapon, dubbed Merciful Magitech. These are not the only skins coming, with Lifeweaver, Mauga, Ashe, Genji, Venture, Tracer, Moira, Dva, Mercy, Hanzo, Illari, and Ana getting skins. Players can also get their hands on the new Irridescent Aspect, a new variation for all Mythic Skins.
Overwatch Classic Patch
Over time, the developers have re-added old patches from the Overwatch 1 Days. With Season 16, Overwatch 2 is bringing back the patch that saw the release of Echo into the game. Not only will players relive Echo’s addition to Overwatch, but it is the first time that Sigma will appear in an Overwatch Classic game since his release fell between this patch and the previous Overwatch Classic mode: GOATS.
