Overwatch 2's new hero, Vendetta La Lupa

Overwatch 2 Hero Guide: Slaying Out as Vendetta

Over the previous weekend, Overwatch 2 players had the chance to test out Vendetta during a trial phase. The new hero is the first melee-based character added in Overwatch 2. Her playstyle is burst-heavy. You want to initiate quickly and get out before the opponents have a chance to react. Do you want to try your hand at perfecting Vendetta when she releases in Season 20 at Overwatch 2? If so, we have the guide for you!

Overwatch 2: Vendetta Kit Breakdown

Onslaught – Strike enemies to increase movement and attack speed.

Onslaught is Vendetta’s Passive. Keeping up her stacks is vital to guaranteeing multiple kills. One of the best ways to stack her Passive early is with Projected Edge. However, this can leave you without block energy in the crucial moments.

Palantine Fang – Hard-light greatsword. Combo swings to end with a destructive overhead slash.

The primary way you deal damage as Vendetta. Landing a combo on a non-tank hero will guarantee a kill in the majority of situations. Hitting the slash requires timing and mechanics, so you must practice it.

Warding Stance – Block with your sword, reducing frontal damage and deflecting melee attacks. Blocking damage depletes energy.

Vendetta’s block can help you get out of sticky situations. It completely negates melee damage, making it useful in melee combat. However, do not entirely rely on it to keep you alive. Vendetta’s lower health pool and block energy means you do not have the same survivability as Ramattra or Hazard.

Projected Edge – Available when Warding Stance is active. Consume energy to fire a wide projectile.

The projectiles give Vendetta some range damage. However, it does not contribute to most of your damage. You can use it to finish off kills or start stacking your Passive.

Whirlwind Dash – Rush forward into a circular slash.

Whirlwind Dash gives Vendetta part of her mobility. It also adds to some of her damage. However, it is not a significant portion. If you want to increase the ability’s dps, use it against a wall.

Soaring Slice – Hurl your sword in the direction you are facing and then fly to it.

A combination of mobility and damage. Soaring Slice is your primary way of engaging. It allows you to close the distance. The Slice also gives you an additional slash, meaning you can open up your combo by taking away a significant portion of the enemy’s health.

Sundering Blade – Cleave through most defenses, dealing severe damage to enemies in front of you.

Vendetta’s ultimate is a threat to any hero. A fully charged ultimate kills non-tanks and leaves tanks on low health. It cuts through armor, overshield, and damage resistance, making it daunting to deal with. A well-timed Suzu or dodging it is the only way to survive the slash.

Overwatch 2: Slashening Tips for Vendetta

Practicing the Combo

Being able to execute the combo is pivotal to dominating as Vendetta in Overwatch 2. Going into the practice range and getting used to the combo will help you. Landing the slash will threaten a kill. Even landing the slash on tanks will put pressure on them.

Not Greeding

Once you use the majority of your cooldowns, your contribution to the fight is minimal. While you still have your combo, sticking to enemies is tricky. Similar to DPS Doomfist, keeping one movement cooldown to leave the fight is vital.

Playing off Tank’s Tempo

If you go in solo and everyone turns on you, you will die. Using your tank to take pressure and act as a cover will help. Vendetta wins the majority of 1v1s, but struggles against multiple heroes.
