How to Acquire all the Praxic Blade Catalysts in Destiny 2
You have completed the Fire and Ice Exotic Mission. You unlocked the Praxic Blade and noticed that it has catalysts. Now you have come here to find out how to unlock all four catalysts. We have you covered in that aspect. For some of the catalysts, you will need the Praxic Blade on hand to help you. You can unlock three of the Catalysts from the Fire and Ice mission.
What Are the Praxic Blade Catalysts?

You can choose from four Catalysts for the Praxic Blade. Each one makes slight adaptations to an already powerful Exotic Weapon. The four catalysts are:
- Echoing Blade
- Increases the number of targets that the thrown Sword can hit.
- Acquired by finding Oddities in the Fire and Ice Mission
- Upper Hand
- Increases the damage of the thrown Sword and reflected shots while on higher ground than the target.
- Acquired by creating a balance in the Fire and Ice Mission
- Hyperblade: Reflecting shots causes you to become amplified and grants this Sword increased lunge distance for a single swing.
- Acquired by creating an imbalance in the Fire and Ice Mission
- Energy Conduit: Grants health regeneration based on the number of targets hit by the thrown Sword.
- Acquired by completing the Way Between Quest
Echoing Blade Catalyst
You can complete this catalyst with the others. But we recommend against it. Echoing Blade requires plenty of time to complete. For this, there are seven Oddities/Taken Blights to destroy throughout the mission. You must use the Praxic Blade to destroy them.
Oddity 1
When you drop down the pillar in the centre of the first Ascendant plane area, do not descend to the bottom. Instead, land on a platform to the right. From here, jump to various platforms, including diamond-shaped ones. Continue until you find disappearing walls and a special ammo crate. You will need to run along the walls to create an opening. Throw the Praxic Blade through the opening to break the first Oddity.
Oddity 2
After breaking the first Oddity, drop down. Follow the traditional path, but keep an eye out on the right side for a disappearing wall. Through a crevice, you will see the Oddity. Turn to your left and jump to the ledge. Crouch through until you reach the second Oddity,
Oddity 3
The third Oddity is in the area with the protruding walls. Head to the furthest right point of the area. Go around the corner and progress on the ledges until you reach the next Oddity.
Oddity 4
You will find Oddity 4 before dropping to the section with disappearing floors and appearing gates. It is a little tricky to find. Look out for the special ammo box, which will give you an indicator of where to go. Jump up onto a ledge and swing across the gap. Move past the disappearing walls to reach the ammo box. Remove the walls in front of you to open a gap for the Oddity.
Oddity 5
Oddity 5 is after the wall puzzle. While you are climbing the beams, jump up to a beam on the right. Progress forward until you reach the first hanging pillar. Look up and jump through the disappearing wall. The Oddity is in the opening ahead of you. You might need to angle the Praxic Blade throw precisely to hit it.
Oddity 6
Oddity 6 is in the final jumping section with Taken goo and Hobgoblins. Jump across the platforms until you see a Taken Phalanx. Move past where the Phalanx stands and drop below. You will see an opening with Oddity 6. Throw your Praxic Blade Blade to break it.
Oddity 7
The last Oddity is in the tower beyond the sixth Oddity. At the top of the tower, you can see the seventh Oddity. Throw the Praxic Blade Blade on the right side to break the last one.
Upper Hand Catalyst

Launch the Fire and Ice Mission on Legendary difficulty. You can complete Upper Hand and Hyperblade simultaneously. At the start of the mission, before you open the door, there are two Taken Knights you must kill. Do not head inside; instead, send one player left and one player to the right. Both are on the outside. Progress until you take the first portal. Destroy the Resonant Crystals to activate a timer and trigger the catalysts.
Proceed until after you have completed the first encounter. Before returning through the portal after the world shifts, head back outside. Return to the locations of the Knights that you killed earlier. There should be Taken Blights. Destroy these with the Praxic Blade.
Start the final encounter and deal damage to the boss until there is only a third of his health left. Below the original dark blights are light versions. You will need to peer over the edge to spot them. Fill them with shared energy as you would have in the previous encounter. Once completed, fill the dark blights and kill the boss. In the chest room, there is a box on the floor that you must interact with to get the Hyper Blade catalyst.
Hyperblade Catalyst
As with Upper Hand, you must launch the mission on Legendary. You can complete Upper Hand and Hyperblade simultaneously. Begin the timer as previously indicated. The steps for this catalyst begin at the first encounter. Instead of completing the encounter as per usual, you must fail each blight intentionally. After each fail, a miniboss spawns. Failing a light blight spawns a Taken enemy and vice versa. Kill each one to create Taken Blights on top of the middle platforms. Break these Blights to trigger a boss Ogre spawn. Kill the Ogre. Complete the mission as intended, and in the chest room, there is another box to open to get the Hyperblade Catalyst.
Energy Conduit Catalyst
The Energy Conduit Catalyst unlocks from the Way Between quest in the Equilibrium dungeon. Once you complete the quest, you will unlock the catalyst. If you would like an extensive guide on this quest, take a look at our previous article.
