Fortnite is introducing new horizons to explore with Pirates of the Caribbean quests. A new event known as ‘Cursed Sails’ is now available and these unique quests offer a slew of rewards to collect. There are quite a few quests to complete and they are called “The Pirate Code” within the questline and battle pass. As usual, there are two variations of these quests. One is a free version and the other will need to be unlocked by spending 1,000 V-bucks.

What is The Pirate Code?

The Pirates of the Caribbean event on Fortnite is broken up into eight distinct chapters. Every chapter is unlocked per day. Since this event started in late July, all of the quests are now available to complete at a player’s discretion. Players will need to find their way through these soggy quests to gain XP and ‘cursed gold.’ The cursed gold is used to continue the battle pass and unlock its rewards.

So, every Pirates of the Caribbean ‘Pirate Code Quest’ in Fortnite offers distinctly different challenges to overcome. They are all fairly straight forward and players should be able to complete them in no time. The following list is a step-by-step process on how to get these done. Luckily, some of these quests offer a little wiggle room to complete their objectives.

Pirate Code – Part One

  • Destroy 100 objects with the ‘Ship in a Bottle’ weapon. It can be found within loot chests or drones. Thus, players can also purchase it for 200 gold bars from Jack Sparrow that is located Northeast of the Grand Glacier.
  • Get 10 headshots or takedown 10 enemies.
  • Find the Black Pearl located at Shipwreck Shallows and walk the plank.
  • Go to the Wasteland and find the Redline Rig and Nitrodome. Between these two structures is where players will need to collect a jar of dirt and bring it back to Jack Sparrow.

Pirate Code – Part Two

  • Either deal 500 damage toward an opponent with the flint-lock pistol, or travel back at least 500 meters from its recoil. This pistol can be purchased from Rust or simply found in pirate chests.
  • Engage with a player and try and deal 500 damage after they have damaged you. This one is a little tricky to pull off, but generally not too difficult.
  • A floating island will randomly appear throughout the map during the Pirates of the Caribbean event. Find one and raise the flag on it.
  • Drink a shield potion in 3 different matches.
  • Speak to any NPC before taking damage. In other words, talk to any character and then engage in combat as fast as possible.

Pirate Code – Part Three

  • There are four different bosses to defeat across the map. Take one out and collect their medallion. Then, carry the medallion and eliminate 3 NPC guards or other players.
  • Defeat a player or NPC guard at Shipwreck Shallows.
  • In the Underworld, either; revive, or reboot one of your squadmates. If going solo, simply just eliminate an opponent.
  • Westward of the Grim Gate in the Underworld, there is a small shack. Go inside it and collect the ‘Dead Man’s Tales’ book. Be sure to read it to finally complete this task.

Pirate Code – Part Four

  • Find Davy Jones on the east side of the Underworld. Deliver him 99 souls. Players can collect souls by eliminating; other players, wildlife, and NPCs. A good way to stack up on souls is by simply playing a few matches of Team Rumble.
  • After that, accept ‘The Survive Black Mark Challenge’ from Davy Jones. This one is pretty simple. Just stay alive for three minutes and the task will be finished.
  • Accomplish a ‘Double Elimination’ when playing a match. Just eliminate two opponents within a few seconds of each other or take them out with an explosion.
  • Purchase a treasure map from an NPC for 300 gold bars. Then, have it equipped and walk a total of 500 meters to achieve this task.
  • Play a match and deal some damage with a ranged weapon of any kind.

Pirate Code – Part Five

  • Go to Reckless Railways and collect a coconut from one of the produce boxes. Then, simply throw and hit another player with it to complete this task.
  • Complete a ‘Victory Royale.’ If a player isn’t the best in battle royale mode, then playing a game with bots is a good alternative to get this done.
  • Buy a treasure map and use it to locate 5 buried chests throughout the map.
  • Find weapon cases and pilfer 10 different weapons. The best way to find weapon cases is by finding the Weapon Bunker located throughout the map.
  • Take damage from an opponent during a match, then run away for a total of 100 meters.

Pirate Code – Part Six

  • Win a duel with a ‘dueling character’ with either a pistol or melee weapon. A dueling character can be found near the Grim Gate or north of the Grand Glacier.
  • Defeat either; The Machinist, Megalo Don, or Ringmaster Scarr. The latter is always located within the Nitrodome. Just in case a player is having a difficult time locating the other two with the War Bus.
  • Find and destroy 9 ‘False Pieces of 8’ that are hidden throughout the island. They’re generally in three locations; Grand Glacier, Lavish Lair, and Pleasant Piazza. Look for little figurines and stuffed animals that are sitting out of place. These are what need to be eliminated.
  • Eliminate a player in any mode and collect a ‘Victory Crown.’
  • Find and destroy 10; Nitro, Slurp, or Slap barrels. A player’s best bet is to go to Shipwreck Shallows since it’s stuffed with slurp barrels.

Pirate Code – Part Seven

  • Do 100 damage to either another player or NPC while in the storm.
  • Eat 3 apples. The best place to find apples is by buying them from Captain Barbossa. He always has them in stock. Another way to find apples is by scouring produce boxes. Just make sure you have some HP missing so they can be consumed.
  • Use the ‘ship in a bottle’ weapon 3 times. Either buy it from Jack Sparrow or find it in pirate chests.
  • Go to Shipwreck Shallows and use the cannons that are located there. Do at least 500 damage to another player, or hit a distance of 500 meters from its recoil.
  • Lastly, play a match and outlast 200 players. Just stay low and do whatever possible to avoid getting fragged.

Pirate Code – Part Eight

  • To start, players will need to visit ‘Davy Jones’ Locker.’ So, this isn’t a “place” on the map, per se. Just like in the movies, Jack Sparrow got stuck there by dying. So, this is what needs to be done in Fortnite. Just find a way to die and a player will be warped there. This task is tricky but simple.
  • Find and take out 3 bosses or boss guards. Going to; Brutal Beachhead, Nitrodome, and Redline Rig are the best spots to find some and engage in combat.
  • Jump into an ‘Oasis Pool’ and restore 25 health or shield. There are a total of 5 Oasis Pools in Fortnite, and they all can be found east of Sandy Steppes in the desert region.
  • Survive being in the storm 10 times. This can be done by playing multiple matches, so players don’t need to sweat with the idea of doing this all in one match.
  • Find a fishing rod and catch 3 fish. Rods can be found around any body of water throughout the map.

Swashbucklers Paradise

After completing all of the ‘Pirate Code Quests,’ players will finally be able to unlock ‘Jack Sparrow’s Glider’ for their inventory. Also, the completion of every quest also rewards players a hearty 5,000 XP. If nothing else, these quests are a handy way to level up while having a little Pirates of the Caribbean adventure. Fortnite is now available for; PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Android, and PC.
