Ark: Survival Ascended Roadmap—Release Dates for 2024 and 2025

With regular updates and added DLC, Ark: Survival Ascended continues to evolve—pun intended— offering players new content and experiences to enjoy! Let’s take a look at the Ark: Survival Ascended Roadmap and go over what we can look forward to.

Ark: Survival Ascended Roadmap and Release Dates

If you don’t know what Ark: Survival Ascended is, it’s an action-adventure survival video game developed and published by Studio Wildcard. It is a remaster of Ark: Survival Evolved, it has better visuals, gameplay improvements, and more!

The main objective is to survive and beat the ARK by gathering resources, crafting tools, making bases, taming dinosaurs, and fighting hostile creatures. But if you’re anything like me, you may find that building a base and taming different dino friends is enough!

While we saw these maps on Ark: Survival Evolved, developers are revamping them all to have new things to explore. Check out the official Ark: Survival Ascended Roadmap above! Unlike its predecessor, all new maps released for Ark: Survival Ascended are included in the base game, which means no additional purchases.

June 2024: The Center

The Center originally had a release date in May 2024. Unfortunately, there were some delays and it didn’t come out when The Ark: Survival Ascended Roadmap initially said. It’s currently set to release on June 3rd, 2024. We can expect to see lava caverns, ice caverns, cave systems, giant waterfalls, ancient ruins, ocean systems, and a floating island!

July 2024: Aberration

Aberration introduces players to a damaged ARK that doesn’t have an internal atmosphere. Players have to deal with something they’ve never had to before: radiation. Additionally, new creatures and other hazardous environments present a thrilling new world to explore.

Aberration is still one of the most unique maps! I’m intrigued to see what the developers plan to add or takeaways since the map is already loved by so many.

September 2024: Ragnarok

Ragnarok is a Norse-inspired map with landscapes that have wintry creatures and volcanic activity. It’s a gorgeous yet dangerous place. We can expect the return of features like the Artifact of the Flamekeeper and the Dragon Breath Grotto, as well as new creatures.

October 2024: Extinction

Extinction steps away from the traditional environments you see on Ark. Players are placed in a post-apocalyptic world that has corrupted creatures and remnants of an advanced civilization. Not much has been shared about what we can expect from the overhaul of Extinction, however, a new creature has been announced, for more information on creatures check out Ark: Survival Ascended New Creature Maps and Release Dates.

November 2024: Surprise

A mysterious addition to the game, the November 2025 release promises unexpected content that may redefine how we experience the game. What do you think this surprise is? A new creature? A new map? ARK 2 news? Let me know in the comments!

December 2024: Valguero

Valguero, one of my favorite Ark maps, offers a wide variety of biomes, including glacial plateaus and underwater caves. When first released it was a combination of 3 map’s biomes and had its own creatures. It’ll be interesting to see if developers keep it relatively the same or make major changes!

February 2025: Genesis: Part 1

Genesis: Part 1 is a simulation across 5 distinct biomes in the form of mini maps: Arctic, Bog, Lunar, Ocean, and Volcanic. Survivors can teleport between these biomes using the HLN-A. We don’t have any information on what will be added to this map.

April 2025: Crystal Isles

Crystal Isles is one of the more captivating maps thanks to its whimsical landscapes and crystal formations. Crystal Isles is a massive map; it’s larger than The Island, Scorched Earth, and The Center maps combined!

The Ark: Survival Ascended Roadmap doesn’t share anything else other than the release date, it’ll be interesting to see what the developers do with this map. Do you have any guesses?

May 2025: Genesis: Part 2

Genesis: Part 2 continues the series with a dual-themed colony ship, allowing players to traverse lush and corrupted regions as they unravel its mysteries. Genesis: Part 2 initially introduced 19 new biome-variant creatures.

The right side of the map has green terrain and normal creatures, while the left side of the map is corrupted with purple terrain and horrifying creatures.

August 2025: Lost Island

Similar to the Crystal Isles map, Lost Island is huge! It calls to players thanks to its mysterious ruins and seemingly endless land, promising adventure and discovery at every turn!

Lost Island initially launched with 3 new creatures: The Amargasaurus, an aggressive dino with spikes on its back; the Dinopithecus, a giant baboon with insane climbing skills; and the Sinomacrops, which is a small winged reptile that can glide. It’s safe to say we can expect some overhauls to these creatures.

October 2025: Fjordur

Fjordur is another Norse-inspired map. It features realms named after mythical lands and offers a blend of beauty and danger for intrepid explorers. There’s Jotunheim which is an icy realm with freezing temperatures, Vanaheim which is a forest-based realm, and lastly, Asgard, a realm with fields and abandoned buildings.

There is a Lot to Look Forward To!

As Ark: Survival Ascended continues to grow, players can look forward to a game filled with overhauled maps and creatures. It’s exciting to see a game I grew up with getting a revamp and also getting to explore the new areas the game developers have added.

The Ark: Survival Ascended roadmap provided by Studio Wildcard lays out a clear vision for the game’s direction. With each update, the world of Ark grows more immersive, I’m excited to see how this game unfolds! What about you?
