Arkane Studios Founder Makes Eyebrow Raising Statement About Dishonored 3

Arkane Studios member talks Dishonored 3

The Dishonored series has been a favorite for a lot of us since it first came out in 2012. With its stealth gameplay, cool supernatural abilities, and detailed settings, it’s no wonder fans have been asking about Arkane Studios and a possible Dishonored 3 for years. After Dishonored 2 in 2016 and Death of the Outsider in 2017, things went quiet until Raphaël Colantonio, the guy who helped start Arkane, said something recently that got people talking.

In an interview on the Quad Damage Podcast, Colantonio was asked about his old projects. He said, “I’d love to, I mean, we’re talking totally hypothetically at this point, I could see myself working on Dishonored 3 right now because it’s been so long that, you know, why not?” For anyone who’s spent hours sneaking through Dunwall, that’s the kind of line that makes your ears perk up. But he also mentioned he’s more into doing new things these days, which makes sense since he left Arkane back in 2017.

The reality, though, is that Dishonored 3 doesn’t seem close to happening. Arkane has had some big changes lately; the Arkane Austin studio shut down in 2024, and Arkane Lyon is focused on Marvel’s Blade. Plus, Colantonio isn’t even with the company anymore. His comment feels more like a “what if” than a promise, but it still stirs up that hope we’ve been holding onto.

What It Means for Fans

Colantonio’s now at WolfEye Studios, working on a new first-person action RPG with a sci-fi twist. He’s said it’ll have some vibes that Dishonored fans might like, and it’s heading for a limited alpha in 2025. That’s something to keep an eye on. Meanwhile, fans on Reddit are all over the place. Some still dream of Dishonored 3 despite leaks suggesting it’s not in the works, while others think the series might stay on hold unless someone new takes it up.

Colantonio’s words might not mean Dishonored 3 is coming, but they’re enough to keep us wondering, and maybe that’s all we need for now. For more of the latest gaming scoops, swing by our news section.
