Assassin’s Creed Origins has been out since October 27th, 2017 on Steam. But of course, it wouldn’t be a wonderful start to the new year if we didn’t have bugs, glitches, or anything game-breaking. Three days into the new year AC Origins has developed a major bug that has led it to becoming mixed-reviewed as negative reviews come flooding in.
Assassin’s Creed Origin Bugs
A new Windows update was introduced back on November 22nd, 2024. After installing it, it caused issues with several game titles and programs, Including Black Screens, Freezing, and all-around crashing. Its Steam forum page was updated by December 6th, but unfortunately, it hasn’t fixed a single thing, as gamers are reporting the same thing happening over and over. Because of this Origins is getting reviewed bomb.
It is safe to say Ubisoft in general is aware of the issue and is working with Microsoft to fix the issue as fast as possible, unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like it will be happening anytime soon. Ubisoft’s games seem to be taking the bug more than others, with Odyssey and Valhalla. Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, are also known to be affected.
Bugs, Bugs, and More Bugs
Ubisoft has released a workaround but it’s mainly going into Task Manager and ending the program manually. It doesn’t fix the bug just gets you back into the game sooner. But understandably some players aren’t fond of it and want a permanent fix. So, Steam users have been shamelessly review-bombing a game for issues that the game itself can’t help with, no surprise. The reviews state as a warning to others to not purchase the game or download the Windows 11’s 24H2 Update. Others are demanding refunds.
However, while Assassin’s Creed Origins is being review-bombed. Path of Exile 2, Origins, and, in my experience, even Palworld will freeze the game still moves in the background but the screen is frozen, and no kind of input is allowed. While Assassin’s Creed Origins is getting the spotlight, it seems others are getting affected as well. With Assassin’s Creed Shadows arriving this year, gamers and AC fans can only hope they find a fix soon, and if the rumors are true, they need to fix it before Assassin’s Creed remasters drop.
