“Can I open you up and take a look?” – Grace Howard, thankfully she only goes after machines…
Grace Howard, or just Grace, is an Electric Anomaly S-Rank Agent. This article will help you decide what is the best build for her and what to aim for when you do your next banner rolls, Let’s get into it with honestly one of my favorite agents.
Quick Note: We won’t go into mindscapes, so for the build and ratings, we will be assuming the agent will be at Mindscape 0 (M0). However, if the Mindscapes are necessary they will be mentioned. Let this guide be just a recommendation and not something you NEED to do, this is just to help and maybe spark some inspiration. This is a build as of version 1.1. Now, let us begin!
Abilities and Skills
Core
- Core Passive Pre-Driven Needle – When Grace’s Basic Attack or Dash Attack hits an enemy and deals Physical DMG, she gains 1 stack of Zap to a max of 8. Once Grace reaches maximum stacks, using a Special Attack or EX Special Attack will consume all stacks of Zap on a grenade in front, increasing the accumulated Electric Anomaly Buildup by 65%
- Additional Ability Tech Support Dept. – When another character shares the same Attribute or Faction in the squad: Upon hitting an enemy with an EX Special Attack, the next Shock effect inflicted on the target increases Shock DMG by 18%. This effect can stack up to 2 times, and each enemy can trigger it once per skill use. Resets when the Shock effects end.
Attacks
- Basic Attack – High-Pressure Spike -Press Basic Attack to use. Unleashes up to 4 attacks, dealing Physical DMG and Electric DMG. While launching Basic Attacks, drag the joystick to attack while moving. This allows Grace to be fluid in her motions while using the basic attack, her Basic Attack combo will not be interrupted by her Special Attacks, EX Special, Dodge, Dash Attacks, or Dodge Counter
Dodge
- Dodge – Saftey Regulation
- Dash Attack – Quick Inspection – Press Basic Attack during a dodge to activate. Slide Forward while shooting, dealing Physical DMG.
- Dodge Counter – Violation Penalty – Press Basic Attack during a Perfect Dodge to activate. Throws a grenade at enemies, dealing Electric DMG. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.
Assist
- Quick Assist – Incident Management – When the on-field character is launched in the air, press Assist to activate. Throws a grenade at the enemy, dealing Electric DMG.
- Evasive Assist – Rapid Risk Response – When the character on the field is about to be attacked, press Assist to activate.
- Assist Follow-Up – Counter Volt Needle – Press Special Attack after an Evasive Assist to activate. Unleashes a spinning hail of bullets against enemies in front and throws a grenade, dealing Electric DMG.
Special Attack
- Special Attack – Obstruction Removal – Press Special Attack to activate. Throws a grenade in front, dealing Electric DMG. Upon use drag the joystick to change directions. The Anti-Interrupt level is increased while using this skill.
- EX Special Attack – Supercharged Obstruction Removal – When there is enough energy, press Special Attack to activate. Leap in the air and throw two grenades in front, dealing massive Electric DMG. Upon use drag the joystick to change directions. The Anti-Interrupt level is increased while using this skill.
Chain Attacks
- Chain Attack – Collaborative Construction – When a Chain Attack is triggered, select Grace to activate. Throws three grenades into the air to detonate them, dealing massive Electric DMG. Character is invulnerable while using this skill.
- Ultimate – Demolition Blast – Beware – When Decibel Rating is at Maximum, press Chain Attack to activate. Throws a custom grenade which explodes in the air and splits into four smaller grenades, dealing massive Electric DMG.
When using Grace its essential to get her Zap Stacks. They are located under to profile picture during a fight. Using her Basic and Dash Attacks to generate Zap. Once Grace has 8 stacks she can use her Special Attack to consume all of them and increase her Electric Anomaly Buildup. The rotation you will want is:
Basic/Dash Attack until you get 8 stacks -> Activate Special Attack -> Once the enemy is Shocked -> Use EX Special -> Switch to Ally.
The rotation is pretty self-explanatory, you just want to make sure the enemy gets shocked so that way you can do more damage in the long run.
Skill Priority – Core -> Special -> Dodge -> Chain -> Assist -> Basic Attack.
Best W-Engines
- Fusion Compiler – This is Grace’s Signature Engine the details are as follows: Increases ATK by 12%(S1) to 24%(S5.) When using a Special Attack or EX Special Attack, the equipper’s Anomaly Proficiency is increased by 25(S1) to 50(S5) for 8s, stacking up to 3 times. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. This is by far, Grace’s best engine if she goes for either DPS or Support.
- Weeping Gemini – Free-to-Play option, Grants a standard 25% to ATK% and offers Anomaly Proficiency by 30(S!) to 46(S5) stacking up to 4 times, whenever a squad member inflicts an Attribute Anomaly.
- Rainforest Gourmet – Another Free-to-Play option, for every 10 Energy Consumed, the equipper gains a buff that increases ATK by 2.5%(S1) to 4% for 10s, stacking 10 times.
Drive Discs
Grace has two kinds of Drives that will make her useful in both an Electric DPS and Electric Support:
- A full set of Thunder Metal for an Electric-only team, The 2 Piece of Thunder Metal increases Electric DMG by 10%, 4 Piece ability is: As long as an enemy is Shocked, the equipper’s ATK is increased by 28%. Freedom Blue’s 2 piece set is recommended since it will give 30 points to the Anomaly Proficiency.
- For a Disorder team fullest of Freedom Blues, 2 Piece will for 30 points to Anomalyh Proficiency, and 4 Piece is: when an EX Special Attack hits an enemy, reduce the target Anomaly Build RES to equipped attribute by 20% for 8s. The effect does not stack with a Thunder Metal 2-piece set.
Team Comps
Grace can come with a lot of options from teammates since she is utterly flexible.
Pure Electric Team Comps can range from having Anton as the DPS, Grace as the Sub-DPS, and Rina as Support. You can have Anby switch out with Rina if you rather have a stun. If you switch out Anton for Piper and Rina for Lucy you can build a Disorder team where you stack multiple Anomalys to do massive damage. Anby again comes back into the team to replace Lucy to have a Disorder team with Stun.
- Anby is simple to use, She is an Electric Stun Agent that can further buff the capabilities of her teammates by stunning enemies for Chain Attacks. The only negative thing about Anby is she does less stun than the rest of the other Stun agents but because she is Electric she can still be useful. Being Electric she can also activate Grace’s and Grace can trigger Anby’s passive ability.
- Rina can provide Grace with a lot of buffs. Her first buff grants the entire team PEN ratio to a max of 30% of Rina’s stats. Along with a 10% buff to Electric attacks.
- Anton is a very good DPS, while he relies on CRITs to get the most of his damage, however, while he is in his burst mode, for every 4 critical hits, the next attack hitting Shocked enemies triggers an additional tick of Shock DMG at 45% if its original DMG.
- One additional mention would be Jane Doe, She lives and thrives off of others’ Anomaly buildup, making Grace perfect for Jane. Jane in her passion state will boost her own DMG and Anomaly Buildup, if you have her M1 to M3 you can boost Jane over the edge. Also Jane’s passive will trigger with Grace in the party, where Jane will for more Anomaly Buildup once the enemy is afflicted with an Anomaly, making it perfect for a disorder build. Once you master both Jane and Grace you can honestly take control of the battlefield eliminating enemies with ease.
- There is another mention, Burnice, who will drop in 1.2 who will be perfect for Jane but shouldn’t have an issue with Grace at least either. They will be a Anomaly team from hell if they can synergize very well together.
As for Bangboos, Plugaboo (S-Rank) and Electroboo (A-Rank) will be perfect no matter what team you build her in.
