Best Perks for Fallout 3

Fallout 3 in 2024

There isn’t much better in horror, apocalyptic emergence from innocents to a cruel world than Fallout 3. Bethesda gave us this third installment of the Fallout series after winning the rights from Interplay Entertainment. It really changed up the series when it added 3D graphics and real-time combat on its release in October 2008. Here are the top three perks of the game to help you with what you need.

Fallout 3 Give You A Chance To Pick Your Perks

This post-apocalyptic open-world environment game brings you up from the depths of the earth in what once was Washington D.C., Maryland, Alaska, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. After what was called the great war, you come out of your little sealed hole to a world of Fallout.

It’s the year 2277, and you are fresh out of the can of Vault 101 with about 1,000 goody-too-shoes people who have survived the nuclear fallout. You and the others have to take up your father’s work while fighting against the Enclave, corrupt remnants of government leaders, monsters, mutants, and something worse than those.

Fallout 3 won Game of the Year and shipped out almost five million copies in its first week. Bethesda has given us Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4 after its success. Fallout 3 open-world storytelling strikes a strange balance that no other game offers.

In the game, you will have the chance to build your character your way by selecting perks. Here are the top three suggestions to survive the harshest reality out there.

The first one is the Grim Reaper’s Sprint, which you can get at level 20. As you move on in the game, targeting enemies with the V A.T.S. is a must, eventually. Depending on your style of play, you could use it every now and then or all the time.

When activated, the Grim Reaper’s Sprint completely restores a player’s AP pool when scoring a kill in V.A.T.S. Once you take something or someone down using V.A.T.S., you will be able to repeat the entire process over again. You can keep it going if you play your cards right and chain a lot of kills together.

Up next is Swift Learner. Swift Learner for Fallout 3 is level 2 and 4 Intelligence. As you play the game, you gain experience points that level you up. When you take out an enemy, discover new areas, and complete quests, you get experience.

No Matter Your Choice, Choose To Survive

When using Swift Learner, it grants you + a 10% bonus for earning experience points. Using this perk increases your leveling up speed and quantity of your abilities. You can stack the skill as you level up to reach a maximum of +30%.

The last perk suggestion is Educated. You can unlock this one at level 4, which requires 4 Intelligence. You get those wonderful skill points to spend when you play and level up. How many you get depends on your Lone Wanderer’s Intelligence stat. You won’t get much out if you don’t have much in there.

When you unlock Learner, this perk, no matter how many points you have Intelligence. It gives you +3 skill points every time you level up. If you get this perk and use it as soon as possible, those extra skill points can give you an edge as the game goes on and is a must.

Here are some of the runners-ups that may help you as well: Tag, Intense Training, Animal Friend (my personal favorite), Comprehension, Bloody Mess, Strong Back, and Mister Sandman.

No matter what you choose, be safe out there and do your father proud.
