Black Myth: Wukong just released on 20 August 2024 and it has exceeded player’s expectations. It is an amazing Action RPG that is based on the Classical Chinese Novel called “Journey to the West”. It follows the story of Sun Wukong as he fights against magnificent bosses in a linear open world. There are a ton of secrets and quests to be found in this game. This article will go over how to complete the Old Rattle Drum questline.
How to Start the Quest
To start the quest players must be in Chapter 2 of Black Myth: Wukong. Players must travel to the Windrest Hamlet Shrine in the Yellow Wind Formation. From there cross the bridge and travel left. Eventually, players will come across another bridge in which they will need to fight an enemy called the Tiger’s Acolyte. After defeating him, players will be rewarded with an Old Rattle Drum item as well as a material called Blood of the Iron Bull. This will start the questline.
Where to Use Drum
Players will need to use the Old Rattle Drum in three places of Black Myth: Wukong. First players must travel to the Windseal Gate Shrine in the Yellow Wind Formation. From there travel left and eventually you will come across a bridge. After crossing the bridge, turn left instead of going straight and players will see an area in which they will get the use prompt. Use the Drum and it will spawn some enemies. Defeat them and you will progress in the quest. Players need to sound the Drum at two more places.
For the second place, travel to the Windrest Hamlet Shrine in the Yellow Wind Formation. From there travel right and once you cross through the door, turn left. Here players will be given another prompt. Use the drum and defeat all enemies. For the last place, travel to the Valley of Despair Shrine in the Sandgate Village. Once here, travel backward and on the right side there will be a gate. Travel straight up to the left side of the area. There players will get another prompt. Use the drum and this time instead of getting enemies, players will see a cutscene.
Secret Boss & Rewards
After the cutscene has been played, players will be able to jump into the well that has appeared in that area. Once down the well, players will come across a secret boss called “Mad Tiger”. This is the final boss of the questline and after defeating him players will have finished the quest. Players will also get Blood of the Iron Bull material as a reward. Mad Tiger Spirit will also be unlocked as a new ability for players in Black Myth: Wukong. In the arena, you will also find a chest. Opening the chest will reward players with Plaguebane Gourd.
