Find out the truth about the effects of video games on the brain. Is there a difference in the cognitive function of the brain in those who play video games versus those who do not play video games? Do video games increase brain function in children? What about the adult brain?
Brain Studies Shocking Reveal
The National Institute of Health reports that “MRI brain imaging analyses of children who played video games for three or more hours per day showed higher brain activity in regions of the brain associated with attention and memory than those who never played”. Two thousand children ages nine and ten participated in this study.
Another study, this time from Sweden, reports that “children who play video games have an IQ 2.5 points higher on average than those who do not play video games”. If you are a gamer you most likely already know kids who play video games are more likely to perform better in school, pay attention to details, and have stronger critical thinking skills than those kids who do not play video games.
I have observed an ability to multitask and greater social skills among children in my family. I was amazed observing my young family members all under 11 watching YouTube how-to videos on one device while applying the instructions on another device and then teaching the newly learned skill to others. These kids have already learned how to research a topic of interest, apply the knowledge, and teach others. There is no denying these skills have lifelong value. So buy your kid the game and let them play; It’s good for their brains.

Family fun days spent in arcade rooms have transformed into complete in-home gaming centers where the proud mom and grandma of gamers as well as game developers spend quality time in the virtual world.
Lori holds the Skee-Ball champion of her family title and eagerly encourages family members to take the title. But their interest lies mostly in Warframe, Legend of Zelda, Fortnite, anything Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario, and Roblox, so for now her title is safe.
