Exciting Capcom Double-Header Showcase Set For February 4

Onimusha: Way of the Sword Capcom

Capcom has given us a great reason to stop shooting the breeze about our neighbor’s curtains. They have announced a livestream showcase for February 4 where they will be revealing some surprising news and in-depth details about some of their games that will be out soon. They have also promised a 15-minute window showing their soon-to-be-released Monster Hunter Wilds game. They have also promised to feature the highly anticipated Onimusha Remake, whose original was released in early 2001. They also promise to whet our appetites with additional titles of updated classics, modern releases, and other newly developed titles.

Capcom Showcase Is Coming

Since its beginning in 1979, Capcom has been bringing titles like Little League, Vulgus, 1942, Commando, and Ghosts ‘n Goblins, establishing a history of excellence. Keeping with its tradition, Capcom has put together a strong lineup of games on the horizon. They won’t be short on showtime with other titles like Capcom Fighting Collection 2 and Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection.

New Upcoming Titles

The February 4 broadcast is set for 35 minutes. Setting almost half of their time for Monster Hunter‘s newest installment confirms their faith in its monster-eliminating franchise. Starting back in 2004, Monster Hunter wasn’t the most popular game when released but developed a strong and loyal cult following. Wilds will now be their ninth title and most promising so far.

The next title we are promised to see more of is Fighting Collection 2. This upcoming compilation of combating characters is the third franchise installment. The original, released in 2022, comprised characters from various fighting games between the years 1998 and 2004. It’s set to release sometime this year, and if we are lucky, we will get a good look at its promising in-game extras, modes, and updated graphics.

Onimusha’s series is one of the highest-grossing game franchises in the world. It started with its original Warlords in 2001 and has had nine other titles follow. One of its more prominent and popular titles was Way of the Sword. Onimusha fans have its remake coming courtesy of Capcom later next year. The announcement of this old game’s new look came with a teaser, and since then, we haven’t seen much, so February’s showcase could provide more updates.

Already Released Titles

We will surely see several released titles, such as Street Fighter 6 updates. This Street Fighter was developed on the RE Engine and supported cross-platform with rollback netcoding. When released, it offered three game modes with three control options in a real-time commentary system. Its next big update is coming the day following the showcase on the 4th. It promises gaming adjustments, character balancing, three new ranks, new characters, adjusted matchmaking, and more.

Another title announced to be shown is Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics. Since it’s been released for PlayStation, Switch, and Windows, they may have some information on their upcoming release for the Xbox. However, they could be keeping with their tradition and revealing more characters, fixing bugs, and introducing new ways to play.

It’s Show Time

With all these titles and more, fans can hardly wait for the promised look of returning classics of nostalgia as well as the fresh new gaming experiences waiting to be released. Capcom’s showcase event is on February 4 at 5 PM Eastern. Here’s hoping to see you streaming with the best of us to see what Capcom has coming next.
