All About Charisma Bobblehead in Fallout 4

The Charisma Bobblehead is just one of the numerous bobblehead items that can be discovered in Fallout 4. There are several different bobbleheads scattered across the Commonwealth, with each one conferring a permanent stat boost to the player. In-universe, these bobbleheads were promotional items distributed by the Vault-Tec corporation. This guide will focus on the Charisma Bobblehead, including its benefits and how it can be obtained.

What the Charisma Bobblehead Does

The Charisma Bobblehead grants the player a passive permanent stat boost once added to their inventory. Each bobblehead corresponds to one of Fallout 4′s seven basic stats as part of its SPECIAL system. In this case, it raises the Sole Survivor’s Charisma stat by 1. The Charisma stat is related to Fallout 4’s speech mechanics and barter system. A higher Charisma stat will make it easier to pass dialogue checks when they are prompted. As it pertains to bartering, items can be bought cheaper and sold for more, depending on the stat’s level. Charisma is also related to the settlement system; a higher Charisma level will allow more people to reside in your settlements.

Where to Find the Charisma Bobblehead

The Charisma Bobblehead is not difficult to find but requires a bit of set-up. It will be found inside the Parsons State Insane Asylum. The Parsons State Insane Asylum is located in the northeastern section of the Commonwealth, west of the Coastal College. To access the Asylum, the player will need to start “The Secret of Cabot House” quest. However, this side quest is part of a chain of quests that must first be completed, starting with “Special Delivery.” The Asylum will be inaccessible until Jack Cabot unlocks it.

If the player has yet to initiate the quest chain, they must first speak with Edward Deegan, a ghoul who can be found wandering in the middle of Bunker Hill. Edward is affiliated with the Cabot family, an affluent group the player will learn more about as part of this series of quests. This side quest will have the Sole Survivor seeking out a package containing a serum at the Parsons Creamery. This is neither a long nor arduous venture but be prepared as it will require combat against raiders. With “Special Delivery” completed, the follow-up quest “Emogene Takes a Lover” will automatically begin.

“Emogene Takes a Lover” involves Jack Cabot’s sister going missing. Snooping around the Third Rail jazz club reveals that Emogene may have gotten involved with a cult named the Pillars of the Community. This will eventually lead you to the Charles View Amphitheater, where Emogene can be found. The player can deal with the head of the cult, Brother Thomas, in numerous ways to set Emogene Cabot free. Some options include persuading him through a speech check or bribing him. The door to the room where Emogene is held captive can also be picked. Whatever your decision, once this quest has been completed you may now begin “The Secret of Cabot House” quest and obtain the Charisma Bobblehead.

“The Secret of Cabot House” has the Sole Survivor meeting Jack Cabot just outside the Parsons State Insane Asylum. This quest revolves around Lorenzo Cabot, Jack’s father, and preventing his escape from the Asylum. The two of you will proceed inside the hospital and fend off a group of raiders inhabiting it. After contending with the chaos, the player leads Cabot to his personal office as part of an early section of the quest. It is in this office that the Charisma Bobblehead can be found on a desk next to a terminal. You are free to complete the quest should you choose, but it is unnecessary to keep the Charisma Bobblehead.

In Conclusion

Getting the Charisma Bobblehead necessitates a bit of patience and effort, but the permanent boost to the player’s Charisma stat is worthwhile. Merely having it in your inventory is enough to garner its effect. Just like the Endurance Bobblehead, the Charisma Bobblehead has appeared in other media, including Magic: The Gathering. An actual bobblehead based on the Charisma Bobblehead can be purchased at the Bethesda Store. The Charisma Bobblehead is a boon of an item that every Fallout 4 player should seek.
