2 Classic Zelda Amiibo Returning for Echoes of Wisdom

Zelda Amiibo

Nintendo is restocking two older Zelda Amiibo for the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. When the game wide releases later this month, players will be able to get their hands on figurines of Link and Princess Zelda that were previously unavailable.

Classic Zelda Amiibo Coming Back Soon

If one was to head over to the Nintendo shop and peruse the Zelda Amiibo stock, they’d find a few from Tears of the Kingdom, Skyward Sword HD, and some from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The stock isn’t overwhelming, but there are options. Unfortunately, a lot of older options aren’t available. There are quite a few from classic games, but they aren’t actively made today. They can only be bought second-hand, and they get rather expensive that way.

For two of the collectible figurines, that will change on September 26, when The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom releases. On that day, Link from Link’s Awakening (2019) and Princess Zelda from The Wind Waker will be available. According to Nintendo, select retailers will have these two rare items. The official tweet didn’t say what retailers, but expect them to be on the Nintendo site as well as potentially GameStop or Walmart.

Echoes of Wisdom to Have Amiibo Support

While it is presently unclear what any Zelda Amiibo will do if scanned while playing Echoes of Wisdom, it is clear that the game will do something. Nintendo confirmed via the Japanese website that the game supports Amiibo functionality and that players can get items or colorful outfits. With Zelda being shown to have different outfits in the trailers, it makes sense that some of them might be accessible by way of Amiibo scan.

This seems to mirror the purpose they served in Tears of the Kingdom. For the most part, scanning any Zelda Amiibo for that game provided Link with an item or an outfit. In some cases, some of the rarest costumes were much more easily obtained with an Amiibo than by Link searching Hyrule endlessly. Instead of Zelda having to scour the depths of the new version of Hyrule, she could alternatively scan a figurine and get them instantly.

Conclusion

These two uber-rare Zelda Amiibo will likely go quickly when they come out. They haven’t been officially available for a while, and fans as well as potential scalpers might be quick to try and snap them up. Additionally, since Echoes of Wisdom does have Amiibo support, it stands to reason that unique figurines will be available from the game itself after launch, though that has not been confirmed.
