“Cursed Hollow,” Phasmophobia’s newest update and first official event for 2025, ignites a new nightmare on April 17th. Players will be tasked with uncovering the secrets of the “Cursed Hollow” through nine terrifying seasonally decorated maps. Featuring mysterious totems, players will need to utilize teamwork to complete objectives and find all hidden items scattered around the game’s haunted maps. Let’s take a look at what else ghost hunters can expect in this cursed event.
What to Expect
Players will be tasked with completing tasks and hunting for paranormal activity the same as before, but this time, there’s a new narrative twist: the Forest Spirit. Aside from all the exciting action, fans will also be glad to know this update brings some quality-of-life changes for all events going forward. We don’t currently have all the data on these changes, but the detailed patch notes will be available on launch.
Step into the Cursed Hollow
The new Forest Spirits domain will be riddled with Forest Spirit Minion Totems. Activating these aforementioned totems will likely dictate which entity haunts you. The impact of these effects will vary and could lead to more of a challenge for you and your ghost-hunting team.
Community Feedback
Fans asked and the developers delivered. Upon reviewing feedback from the previous Crimson Eye and Winter’s Jest events, the developers are implementing map rotation, shorter event duration (3 weeks instead of 4), a split category between community and personal rewards, and gameplay modifiers that feature more investigation changes when players interact with the Forest Spirit Minion Totems present in the event’s maps.
Final Thoughts
This spooky event will be live for all players across all platforms on April 17th. Fans are optimistic about the game’s future, especially since the developers have assured them that they will continue to monitor feedback from their loyal community.
