Abrams is a powerful tank because of his natural health regeneration and damage reduction, allowing him to stay on the battlefield longer. He would perform best when fighting in close-range combat and can rapidly reach his opponents to stun and damage them. However, his weakness is fighting at a distance while being susceptible to anti-heal skills. Mastering his abilities will make you a force to be reckoned with in tight spaces.
Overview
Strengths:
- Health Recovery & Damage Mitigation: In Deadlock Abrams can regenerate health and mitigate damage over time, making him tough to take down.
- High Mobility: His speed and mobility allow him to engage and disengage effectively, making him a dangerous opponent in close combat.
- Crowd Control (CC): Strong CC abilities, especially in narrow spaces, make him an excellent ganker.
Weaknesses:
- Long-Range Combat: Abrams is weak at range, especially when his gap-closing abilities are on cooldown.
- Anti-Healing Vulnerability: Abilities and items that reduce healing can severely hinder his survivability.
- Struggles in Open Spaces: Wide-open areas expose him to multiple enemies and ranged attacks, making it difficult to close the gap and control the fight.

Abilities:
Siphon Life
Effect: Drains health from enemies within a radius.
- Tips:
- Use this ability to sustain yourself in fights, especially against neutral camps.
- Even a single point can help with sustain, even if you don’t plan to max it.
Shoulder Charge
Effect: Charges forward, colliding with enemies and dragging them along.
- Tips:
- Best used in narrow spaces for maximum impact. Utilize teleport systems to catch enemies off guard.
- Can be used both offensively to engage or defensively to escape.
Infernal Resilience
Effect: Regenerates a portion of incoming damage over time.
- Tips:
- Max this ability first for maximum health and regen, making you even harder to kill.
- When low on health, retreat briefly to allow regen to kick in, giving you an advantage in prolonged fights.
Seismic Impact – Ultimate:
Effect: Leaps into the air and smashes the ground, damaging and stunning enemies in the radius.
- Tips:
- Coordinate with allies to follow up on your ultimate for devastating effects.
- Maxing this ability reduces cooldown and increases damage, making you a rampaging force on the battlefield.
Playstyle Tips:
- Close the Gap: Use Shoulder Charge to engage quickly, especially in narrow spaces where enemies have limited escape options.
- Stay in the Fight: Rely on Infernal Resilience and Siphon Life to sustain yourself in prolonged battles. Don’t be afraid to retreat briefly to let your regen work.
- Gank Effectively: Abrams excels in ambushing enemies in tight spaces, so focus on controlling these areas to maximize his strengths.
- Team Coordination: Coordinate with your team, especially when using Seismic Impact, to ensure maximum damage and crowd control.
Master Abrams’ abilities in Deadlock, and you’ll become a formidable tank that controls the battlefield with strength, resilience, and precise positioning.
Ultimate Item List
Use these items to make you a powerful force to be reckoned with on the battlefield:
Follow the items depicted in the picture for the early game or the laning phase. Restorative Shot will help you pick up some health if you get chipped away at. Melee Lifesteal is a must because with Abrams you will be punching a lot and once you pick up Melee Charge you can reload your weapon from punching as well. If you are struggling early on you can pick up some of the situational items listed in the picture above. Once you have grabbed your early game items begin to start grabbing core items. Prioritize Torment Pulse first. If you run out of space sell any of the early-game items that don’t upgrade into anything worthy. Continue getting core items and then pick up situational actives depending on who the enemy team has against you to shut down any of their ultimates that could annoy or harass your team.
Late Game Items
Follow this picture for late-game items. Not all of these are required for Abrams and you should mainly pick up Superior Cooldown and Diviner’s Kevlar to make your ultimate extremely good if you want your ultimate up quickly. Diviner’s Kevlar will give you bullet and spirit shielding once you pop your ultimate. Choose any of the other items in the luxury list on the picture that you feel you need or if you have space for them. If you need more life go for Colossus and Leech. If you feel like your damage is struggling then pick up Crippling Headshot and Rapid Rounds.
Conclusion
For Abrams, the key to success lies in choosing the right items for each phase of the game. During the early game or laning phase, focus on Restorative Shot for health recovery and Melee Lifesteal to sustain your punches. Melee Charge will further enhance your play by reloading your weapon with each punch. If you’re struggling, don’t hesitate to grab situational items to stay competitive.
As the game progresses, prioritize core items like Torment Pulse, and be prepared to sell early-game items that no longer serve you. In the late game, focus on Superior Cooldown and Diviner’s Kevlar to maximize your ultimate potential. Adapt your item choices based on the situation—whether you need more life, damage, or defense—to ensure you remain a dominant force on the battlefield.
