Deadlock: The Ultimate Bebop Hero Build

Bebop

Bebop is a unique tank in Deadlock, and he is suitable for even the most novice player. His utility and flexibility make him quite strong, even for gamers who mostly enjoy strategic gameplay in games. Bebop’s standout ability, the Hook, has both offense and defense capabilities, making him an excellent choice to take control on the battlefield.

Abilities

Exploding Uppercut: A heavy melee attack that sends enemies flying back-namely, causing area-of-effect damage at a point where those enemies fall. Great for disrupting enemy positioning and setting up follow-on attacks.

Sticky Bomb: This ability allows him to plant an explosive device on a nearby ally or enemy or even on himself. After a very short delay, the bomb detonates, inflicting a huge amount of damage. With other abilities, the Sticky Bomb can get very terrifying.

Hook: His patented move, Hook yanks a target or an ally towards his position. If used on an enemy, said enemy takes minor damage and is dragged in front of Bebop, setting up some pretty powerful combos in the process.

Hyper Beam-Ultimate: Charge a powerful laser beam that keeps away several opponents with heavy damage and slows. Much more range than the usual Bebop attack and, if done in the air, it can allow Bebop to hover for a short time, giving him both offensive options and options for mobility.

Combat Tips

Combos: Utilize the Hook to pull in enemies, follow up with a Sticky Bomb, and use the Exploding Uppercut; this combo is sure to damage them and make them super weak, thus easy to finish.

Positioning: Employ the Hook intelligently to control fights by either dragging enemies or, in addition, aiding teammates with the said ability. Since Bebop’s primary is medium-ranged, use positioning to attain dominance over a point or area.

Upgrades: Early on, invest in durability and reduce the cooldowns of abilities. Later in the game, focus on improvements that increase damage output to make Bebop a greater threat in fights.

Playstyle

Bebop excels in close combat in Deadlock, using his timing and positioning for optimal efficiency. His Hook is the linchpin of his kit, as he can use it to isolate an enemy or save a friend. Bebop is not usually the highest damage dealer, but his crowd control and utility make him integral to any composition.

Ultimate Item Guide

Use the following items to make you the king in hook pulling with bomb planting and punch-throwing destruction:

In the early game, Rapid Rounds and Mystic Burst will help you with your damage.  Extra Stamina will help you get in or get out of combat more easily.  Extra Spirit gives you a little more damage to your bomb plant.  In mid-game Long Range adds damage to your primary weapon.  Use Fleetfoot, one of the better items in Deadlock; to get rid of the movement speed penalty while shooting your weapon.

Go for Bullet Lifesteal to give you regen as you shoot targets to help you sustain your hit points in combat.  To also allow you to live longer grab Combat Barrier and Enchanter’s Barrier.  Improved Cooldown does exactly what it says; gives you a lower cooldown on your abilities and an extra charge to the ability that has charges.  To lower spirit-resist of enemies grab Bullet Resist Shredder.  This will help you do more damage with spirit-type attacks.

Mid-Game Items

Start upgrading items to the 3000-souls cost items.  If you need more room sell early-game items and replace them with better Mid-game options listed in the picture above. To increase your effectiveness with your weapon grab Burst Fire, Intensifying Magazine to increase damage over time as you shoot, and Sharpshooter for headshot damage.  Veilwalker gives you that needed survivability.

Improved Burst will give bonus spirit damage to attacks that do more than 125 damage with a short cooldown.  Put Superior Cooldown on your ultimate to laser enemies more often to dominate the battlefield.  If there are any pesky or annoying ultimate users on the opposite team pick up Knockdown to stop them in their tracks.  Make sure you time it right when you use Knockdown to interrupt someone.

Late-Game Items

For the end game use whatever you feel you are lacking in.  If you need more weapon damage grab Glass Cannon for a huge 70% increase in weapon damage with a small hit to health.  Get Frenzy for an increase in weapon damage while below 40% health. It’s not my favorite but it does work in those rough situations. My favorite is Crippling Headshot to do more damage and lower the bullet and spirit resistance of targets.  It’s fairly easy to get headshots with Bebop with his pinpoint accurate laser weapon.

Boundless Spirit is amazing if you want a ton more spirit damage and movement speed.  I highly recommend Diviner’s Kevlar if you find yourself being focused while using your massive laser ultimate ability.  It will give you a ton of shielding to help ward off the damage you take.  If you need more health sustainment grab leech for bullet and spirit lifesteal.

Conclusion

Maximize Bebop’s potential by focusing on items that grant more significant damage and survivability to him during early-game, such as Rapid Rounds and Extra Stamina. Going into mid-game transitions with upgrades that have more emphasis on increasing the effectiveness of his weapon and cooldowns like Burst Fire, or Superior Cooldown. Finally, late-game consider what you need: a strong damage boost with Glass Cannon or survivability-increasing during your ultimate with Diviner’s Kevlar.

You run the field with your well-timed hooks, perfectly placed bombs, and close-range combos, thanks to choosing the right items and playing to Bebop’s strong suits.
