Deadlock: Ultimate Mo and Krill Hero Item Build

Mo and Krill

Mo and Krill are more than just members- they’re the guardians of the underground in Deadlock known as The Tunnel Rats. Their group provides a means of illegal trade and commerce between the boroughs of New York City through a network of tunnels. Most of the individuals in the city’s underworld respect the operations of The Tunnel Rats; however, from time to time, a gang tries to take advantage. That’s when Mo and Krill intervene, showing opportunists why it’s a bad idea to cross them. With a mix of stealth, power, and ambush, Mo and Krill have made the greatest punishments for those not respecting their turf.

Overview of Hero

Mo and Krill are ambushers in Deadlock; they believe in attacking out of sight to turn the tide of a battle. They excel in close combat with heavy damage and healing, making them lethal and hard to kill.

Scorn: AoE Damage + Self-Heal
Mo and Krill deal area of effect damage, healing for damage dealt. The effect is significantly stronger against enemy heroes, which can be super hard to take down in fights.

Upgrades:

Cooldown Reduction: The cooldown is reduced by 4 seconds, allowing more frequent usage.

Damage Increase: It increases the damage by +25, making it even more punishable.
Damage Debuff: Debuffs enemies, giving Mo and Krill the capacity to deal an extra 15% of their damages; can stack up to 16 seconds.

Pro Tip: Scorn is great when you’re surrounded. It deals really good damage and keeps you in the fight longer, especially against other heroes, by healing Mo and Krill.

Burrow: Mobility + Crowd Control
Mo and Krill burrow underground, gaining increased movement speed and armor. While burrowed, they’re more difficult to damage; when they pop up they launch nearby enemies into the air and perform a spin attack that damages and slows. Cooldown only begins after they resurface.

Upgrades:

Extended Burrow Time: Gain an additional 3 seconds to stay underground allowing more time to set up for an ambush.
Spin Attack Power: +140, radius of attack +2. Cooldown Reduction: -20 seconds, +3 meters/second more movement speed underground.

Pro Tip: Use Burrow to close the gap between you and your enemies or to make a quick escape. When you surface, the knock-up and slow can help you control the battlefield or set up for bigger attacks.

Sand Blast: Disarm + Ranged Damage
Mo and Krill unleash a cone of sand forward, damaging enemies, also disarming them. While enemies are disarmed, they cannot use their basic attacks, giving you a huge advantage.

Upgrades:

Duration Increase: Increases disarm duration by 1.5 seconds, making your enemies stay in that weak point much longer.
Cooldown Reduction: Decreases the cooldown time by 20 seconds, which enables one to cast it more frequently.
Slow: Slows disarmed enemies by -50%, making it even more difficult for them to get away or retaliate.

Pro Tip: Sand Blast to disarm dangerous foes to help set up your next move and make them slow with one of your active items; making it easier to chase down after they’ve been hit.

Combo(Ultimate) Single-Target Stun + Permanent Health Gain

Mo and Krill stun a target, locking it down and channeling damage into them. If they kill the enemy during the attack you gain permanent max health.

Upgrades:

Cooldown Reduction – Reduces the ability cooldown by 30 seconds to be able to continuously use it.

Duration Increase – Boosts the time of stun and the channeling of damage by 1 second to give extra time for the execution of your targets.
Damage and Lifesteal Boost: Adds +40 DPS and grants 100% Lifesteal, turning Combo into a survivability tool just as much as it’s an execution move.

Pro Tip: Combo’s your go-to in terms of picking off key targets, especially if you can land the kill for that permanent health boost. Use it sparsely, especially in drawn-out fights where that extra health will make all the difference.

Key Strategies

Burrow into a fight either to flee a bad position or surprise your enemies with an attack. Use Scorn when surrounded by several foes or in a difficult battle to attack and get back some health. Sand Blast will be used to disarm dangerous enemies and make them slow, to minimize their potential for putting out damage as you focus on taking down the higher-priority targets.

Use Combo to lock down key targets; try to finish them off for that sweet permanent health boost.
Mo and Krill are deadly together, using their knowledge of the tunnels and close combat skills to pacify everything underground. Whether attacking enemies from behind lines or holding their ground in Deadlock, Mo and Krill are invaluable guardians of The Tunnel Rats’ area. Burrow and bash your enemies to bits and nobody will dare stand in your way.

Early-Game Items

Use the image to help guide you on the item purchasing process. To start you will want Headshot Booster to help do more damage. Then grab Extra Regen to give you a little extra sustain in your lane. Mystic Reach and Mystic Burst will boost your spirit damage and give you a little more range with your abilities. Picking up Monster Rounds is always good for early lane farming. To get some run speed purchase Sprint Boots to help you get around.

Mid-Game Items

Go for Healing Booster first for more health regeneration. Pick up Cold Front next to give you extra active ability to do some spirit damage to your target and slow them down. Grab Beserker to make Mo and Krill do more damage as you take damage. Next, buy Spirit Armor or Bullet Armor depending on what is more needed based on the type of team composition you are up against. If you want to be super tanky grab both.

Another good active ability to grab is Slowing Hex. No one will be able to escape you with this. Picking up Enduring Speed will help you get around the map quicker. Finally, buy Mystic Shot to give you a boost to your bullet damage.

End-Game Items

During late-game Mo and Krill will need Torment Pulse. This gives you a free damage aura. Then purchase Improved Spirit Armor or Improved Bullet Armor. You can pick up both if you want the extra durability in fights. Improved Reach will boost the range of your abilities with a bonus to one specific one. Place it on Scorn to help you hit more enemies and heal even further. Buying Echo Shard next is very good because it will allow you to burrow and then activate Echo Shard to be able to do it again.

If you have any extra slots after this you can grab Debuff Reducer to help you survive when crowd-controlled. The active ability Debuff Remover is a good item as well for just getting you out of negative effects. Warp Stone can help you chase down enemies and give you a weapon damage boost. Ethereal Shift is excellent for becoming immune if you get trapped within a lethal ultimate of an enemy.

Final Thoughts

Mo and Krill excel at keeping the battlefield under control, abusing a skill that crowds control in a big way. Early-game items that give lots of damage and sustain are good, such as Headshot Booster and Extra Regen. Later in the game, you will transition into health regeneration and crowd control with Healing Booster, Cold Front, and Slowing Hex to maintain pressure. Torment Pulse and Improved Armor will be key durability factors in the late game. Able to disarm, slow, and lock down key targets, the unstoppable forces of Mo and Krill ensure underground victory for The Tunnel Rats.
