Nacon announced a delay in its upcoming survival action title, Terminator Survivors. This solo or co-op game promises players to take part as a group of survivors in an open-world survival universe set after the nuclear fallout of what is known as Judgment Day. Four years after humanity has nearly been wiped out, people are starting to emerge, only to find things have gotten worse out there.
The Last Of Humanity Against Skynet
Terminator Survivors began development in 2022 as another multiplayer movie franchise experience joining Friday the 13th and Evil Dead. Earlier this year, The Aftermath trailer previewed survivors collecting resources while getting hunted by Terminators. The prospective date of its original release was set to be late October of this year.
However, Nacon has stated that its new release date has moved to next year. The tweet from Nacon basically stated that the reason for the delay was to ensure that they were able to deliver a game that fit players’ expectations, and the team at Nacon wanted to do right by the iconic Terminator universe.
Surviving After Judgement Day
This universe in Terminator Survivors promised gamers the opportunity to meet iconic characters familiar to fans of the franchise. Players would have to venture out into the desolate world to also discover more details about Judgement Day, which offers movie fans insight what happened that day.
Terminator Survivors invites players to set out and make a new home for humanity as a home base that you get to choose and build, making a stand for human versus machine. The promise of it being a solo game as well as co-op incises the mind of gathering friends and working together to survive.
The gameplay promises that players will be armed with machines coming at them. They will have to use stealth, range, or face them hand-to-metal-hand combat. That means sometimes gamers will have to pick their fights or hold the line no matter the cost.
The game takes place in 2009, and the events of the first two movies are confined to that time frame. That isn’t to say that gamers will follow the same storyline, as it appears that this game offers a whole new story for players to follow. There hasn’t been any real gameplay given or more information about what the game may look like other than the original tailor release.
What Else Is There To Do But Wait
For fans who love James Cameron’s masterpiece and franchise, there isn’t much to do but wait for Terminator Survivors. In the meantime, there is the upcoming anime adaptation of Terminator Zero. This new series is coming to Netflix later this month.
This delay can be frustrating for gamers as there isn’t an exact date given as to its release as well as some other facts of the game are open to change, but there is another way to look at it. It also means we can assume the game will be better for it, and we will have a more polished product at the end of the day.
