Destiny 2 just released their brand-new expansion called The Final Shape. It launched with a brand-new destination called The Pale Heart of The Traveler. This destination comes with its own set of activities, new armor sets for Warlocks, Titans, and Hunters, new Cosmetics, as well as new Legendary and Exotic weapons. Axial Lacuna is one of the Pale Heart weapons and it is the first of its kind Legendary weapon. It comes with the Origin Trait called Dealer’s Choice, allowing kills with the weapon to generate Super energy.
Axial Lacuna Overview
Axial Lacuna is the first ever Legendary Precision Frame Fusion Rifle that has Solar affinity. There have been a ton of Precision Frame Fusion Rifles in Destiny 2 but never a Legendary Solar one. This Fusion Rifle comes with some amazing perk combinations for PvE as well as decent perk options for The Crucible. This weapon is also Craftable allowing it to get enhanced perks on it.
Axial Lacuna has 14 perk options. In the left column, we have Firmly Planted, Threat Detector, Reconstruction, Keep Away, Cornered, Demolitionist, and Eye of the Storm. In the right column, players have the perk options of Incandescent, Controlled Burst, Kickstart, Surrounded, Frenzy, Vorpal Weapon, and Desperate Measure.
Axial Lacuna PvE God Roll
For PvE, players want to decrease the Charge time as much as they can so they will use Barrels, and Magazine options accordingly. In the left column, Reconstruction is the best perk to have. It slowly refills the Magazine on its own to double its capacity. This will allow Axial Lacuna to fire more than 10 shots in a row without needing to reload.
In the right column, Surrounded is the highest damage-boosting perk but it is extremely situational. It requires three or more enemies nearby to work. Therefore, players will find more success with Controlled Burst. It means that landing every shot in the burst will increase the damage and decrease the charge time of the weapon for a short time. This perk synergizes well with Reconstruction.
Axial Lacuna PvP God Roll
For The Crucible, there are not plenty of good perk options. In the left column, Firmly Planted is the best choice that grants bonuses to Accuracy and Stability. This perk, however, requires players to be crouched so players that do not use this playstyle will find better success with Eye of the Storm.
In the right column, Kickstart is the only perk that is designed for PvP. The rest of the perks are more suited for PvE. Kickstart allows that sliding after sprinting for a short time allows the weapon to deal more damage as well as provides a decrease in charge time. This pair wells with Firmly Planted.
Conclusion
Axial Lacuna is the first ever Legendary Precision Frame Solar Fusion Rifle and is more suited for PvE. For PvE, the perk combination of Reconstruction and Controlled Burst is one of the best for Fusion Rifles. For PvP, there are not many options available and the best combination will be Eye of the Storm / Firmly Planted with Kickstart.
