Destiny 2 The Final Shape expansion also launched with the first-ever Episodic content. The first Episode is called Echoes and it features brand-new activities, new armor sets for Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans, as well as brand-new Weapons. This Episode is divided into three acts and the third act launched with two new weapons Chronophage and Speleologist. All of these weapons come with the Origin Trait called Radiolaria Transposer which allows rapid kills with the weapons to create a pool of white fluid that damages enemies.
Chronophage Overview
Chronophage is an Adaptive Frame Trace Rifle that has Void affinity. Trace Rifles are popular in PvE thanks to their ammo economy allowing players to run double Special ammo loadouts. Players can pair this weapon with other Special Ammo weapons like The Call in the Kinetic space. Trace Rifles are not used in The Crucible and this weapon does not feature any good PvP perks at all. It is more tuned for PvE.
In the left column, this weapon features an Elemental Capacitor, Strategist, Shoot to Loot, Pugilist, Auto-Loading Holster, Feeding Frenzy, and Repulsor Brace. In the right column, it has the options of One for All, High Ground, Fragile Focus, Target Lock, Demolitionist, Desperate Measures, and Demolitionist.
Chronophage PvE God Roll
Chronophage has ton of options for PvE. Players want to boost the Reload Speed as high as possible for this weapon. They should use an Arrowhead Brake as the Barrel option, a Tactical Battery as the Magazine option, and a Reload Speed Masterwork. In the left column, there are plenty of good options available.
Strategist and Pugilist exist as ability regeneration perks in the left column providing Class ability energy and Melee energy on kills. Other than that, Shoot to Loot is a utility perk that allows the weapon to pick up ammo bricks and Orbs of Power by shooting them. Auto-Loading Holster exists which automatically reloads the weapon if you are not using it. All of these are good perk options and players can choose any they want. However, if players are looking for Void synergy they can use Repulsor Brace. It generates a Void Overshield when defeating an enemy afflicted by a Void debuff.
Repulsor Brace also synergizes well with Destabilizing Rounds in the right column. It provides a Void debuff by spreading Volatile on kills. Demolitionist is also present in this column which pairs well with the ability regeneration perks in the left column. Other than that, One for All is the best damage-boosting perk in the right column which honestly pairs well with any perk in the left column.
Conclusion
Chronophage is a Void Trace Rifle and it features some amazing perk options for PvE. It can provide ability regeneration thanks to the combination of Pugilist / Strategist and Demolitionist. It has great Void synergy thanks to the combination of Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds. It also has great perk options for general combat like One for All and Auto-Loading Holster.
