Destiny 2 just released their annual summer event called Solstice. The Solstice event launched with brand-new armor sets for Hunter, Warlock, and Titans, as well as three returning weapons and one brand-new weapon. All these weapons come with their own unique Origin Trait. This Origin Trait is called Dream-Work, which allows that whenever you get assists or assisted final blows, your weapons magazine will slightly fill from reserves, which can also overflow the magazine. While this Origin Trait is active, weapons also gain a boost to Reload Speed.
How to Obtain Compass Rose
Compass Rose is a returning Solstice weapon that now features some brand-new perks. Being a Solstice weapon, it drops from all the Solstice activities. Players can also focus it from Eva Levante in the Tower. Other than that, players can also get it by completing the Solstice event challenges. However, the best way to grind for this weapon is to use the focusing option with Eva.
Compass Rose Overview
Compass Rose is a Precision Frame Shotgun with Solar affinity. Precision Frame Shotguns are some of the best in the game, thanks to how their pellet spread works. They are highly consistent in The Crucible and hard-hitting in PvE. This Shotgun also comes with extremely good perks, which also synergize with the Solar subclasses. This weapon has 14 perks, with 7 in the left column and 7 in the right.
The perk options available in the left column are Grave Robber, Threat Remover, Slickdraw, Slideshot, Threat Detector, Dual Loader, and To the Pain. In the right column, we have some amazing perks like Trench Barrel, Incandescent, One-Two Punch, Snapshot Sights, Opening Shot, Vorpal Weapon, and Barrel Constrictor.
Compass Rose PvE God Roll
Compass Rose has some classic damage dealing, crowd control perk options, and perk combinations that go extremely well with Melee builds. The left column of perks is a bit underwhelming for PvE, but Grave Robber and Threat Detector are some good perk options. For Barrel and Magazines, we want to boost the Range of this weapon as much as possible. Hammer-forged rifling is the best option for a Barrel, and Magazine Accurized Rounds are always the best option.
The right column is where things start to get interesting for this weapon. Trench Barrel and One-Two Punch are both amazing for Melee builds. Trench Barrel improves the damage of your weapon, whereas One-Two Punch increases the damage of your Melee abilities. Incandescent also exists as one of the best perks for PvE. It causes a Solar explosion when you score kills, which scorches nearby targets. This makes Incandescent highly synergistic with the Solar subclass.
Compass Rose PvP God Roll
Precision Frame Shotguns are extremely good in The Crucible, and Compass Rose is no exception. For PvP, you want to boost the range of this weapon as high as possible. This is possible by using Hammer-Forged Rifling as the Barrel option, Accurized Rounds as the Magazine option, and a Range masterwork. We will further boost the Range of this Shotgun by using our left and right-column perks.
In the left column, the best perk for The Crucible is Slideshot. Slideshot allows your weapon to get a bonus Range and Stability as well as a partial refill from ammo reserves when you slide. In the right column, the best option is Opening Shot. Opening Shot allows the first shot of a weapon when not in use for about three seconds to get extra Range and Accuracy. Opening Shot combined with Slideshot is the best perk combination that any Shotgun could get, and it works even better on a Precision Frame Shotgun.
