At the start of Destiny 2’s Episode, Heresy, the weapons of the Vault of Glass raid get a perk refresh. Many players have arrived back in the Vault to acquire these updated weapons. The perk refresh also saw the addition of an Origin Trait in Timelost Magazine that has significantly improved the efficacy of all Vault of Glass Weapons. One of those weapons is the Light Machine Gun Corrective Measure.
Corrective Measure Overview
Corrective Measure is an Aggressive Frame Light Machine Gun with a Void Affinity. Corrective Measure was a consideration for players, even before the perk reset. However, it often fell out of favor, competing against the likes of Hammerhead and Commemoration. With the updated perks and new Origin Trait, Corrective Measure is a competitor for Void Light Machine Guns. Similar to Hammerhead, Corrective Measure has the potential for double damage perks.
The left column has one damage perk in Redirection, while the others tend towards increasing the Area of Effect damage or total Magazine size. The other perks in the left column are Demolitionist, Destabilizing Rounds, Dynamic Sway Reduction, Firefly, Rewind Rounds, and Subsistence. The right column has Adrenaline Junkie, Demoralize, Elemental Honing, High-Impact Reserves, Killing Tally, One For All, and Withering Gaze.
PvE God Roll
Two options stand out in the left column for players to choose from. The first and the best overall perk is Destabilizing Rounds. The Area of Effect potential of the perk makes it effective at taking down hordes of enemies. The other choice is Redirection. While Redirection enables a double damage perk setup, it is a weaker choice than Destabilizing Rounds. The role of the Light Machine Guns is to clear a room full of enemies, not consistently taking down higher health targets.
The right column also has two perk choices, but it is a more nuanced choice to make. The damage increase from Killing Tally and One for All is more or less the same. They differ in the way they are activated. Killing Tally needs final blows, while One for All is hits on enemy targets. The benefit of Killing Tally is that it will be permanently up without a reload. One For All’s benefit is that it does not require final blows. In higher-end content like Grandmaster Nightfalls, acquiring final blows is more strenuous.
Fluted Barrel provides Stability and Handling, while an Appended Magazine significantly increases the bullets in a Magazine. The worst part of a Light Machine Gun is often the time it takes to reload the weapon. As a result, the preferred Masterwork of choice for players is Reload Speed. While the pain of reloading will still be there, it will not feel like you can cook a meal before the reload is finished.
- Barrel: Fluted Barrel
- Magazine: Appended Mag
- Masterwork: Reload Speed
- Left Perk: Destabilizing Rounds, Redirection
- Right Perk: Killing Tally, One For All
PvP God Roll
Light Machine Guns are a significant threat in PvP, with anyone wielding them causing panic in the lobby. The left column’s best perk is Dynamic Sway Reduction, which improves stability and accuracy, two crucial PvP stats. While Corrective Measure will one-shot most players, having High-Impact Reserves guarantees this. While the damage buff is not significant, it is permanently active. The best combo for optimal Stability on Corrective Measure is Chambered Compensator for the Barrel and Steady Rounds for the Magazine. These two perks cause the weapon to have little to no recoil. A Masterwork choice of Stability neutralizes the recoil, while a Range accounts for the Range loss from Steady Rounds.
- Barrel: Chambered Compensator
- Magazine: Steady Rounds
- Masterwork: Stability, Range
- Left Perk: Dynamic Sway Reduction
- Right Perk: High-Impact Reserves
Attaining Corrective Measure
Corrective Measure drops occur throughout the Vault of Glass raid. The Confluxes, Templar, and Atheon encounters drop Corrective Measure. Furthermore, picking up the quest from Suraya Hawthorne in the tower can grant players a guaranteed crafting pattern from the final chest. Should players chase the Adept version, they must complete the Atheon Master Challenge, while Vault of Glass is a raid on rotation.
