The long-awaited Destiny 2 Vault of Glass weapon refresh is here. After a long hiatus, players return to defeat the Vex and prevent Atheon from warping reality as we know it. Praedyth finds himself lost in time, but he has given us a gift in his final moments: the Sniper Rifle, Praedyth’s Revenge. While Hezen Vengeance is hogging the spotlight, Praedyth’s Revenge is secretly sneaking its way into the discussion.
Praedyth’s Revenge Overview
Praedyth’s Revenge has many perks to choose from that make this a premier weapon. The left column has Discord, Envious Arsenal, Fourth Times the Charm, Kinetic Tremors, No Distractions, Osmosis, and Rewind Rounds. The right column boasts a host of damage perks: Bait and Switch, Elemental Honing, Firefly, Frenzy, High Impact Reserves, Opening Shot, and Precision Instrument.
PvE God Roll
Four perks stand out in the left column: Envious Arsenal, Fourth Times the Charm, Rewind Round, and Kinetic Tremors. The first three perks increase the total damage of Praedyth’s Revenge, ensuring that little to no reloads are necessary during a damage phase. On the other hand, Kinetic Tremors increases the damage per second of the Sniper. In most damage phases, Kinetic Tremors is a less preferred option since it is better to have total damage. However, it is a powerful option in Grandmaster Nightfalls, helping to take down Champions in seconds.
The right column is where you want to focus your damage perk options. Bait and Switch and Elemental Honing are perfect options alongside their left-column perks. With the popularity of Anarchy at an all-time high, both perks make Praedyth’s Revenge an ideal companion. Finally, you want to improve handling and total mag size with its Barrel, Magazine, and Masterwork. The go-to for players, in this case, is Fluted Barrel, Tactical Mag, and a Handling Masterwork.
- Barrel: Fluted Barrel
- Magazine: Tactical Mag
- Masterwork: Handling
- Left Perk: Rewind Round, Envious Arsenal
- Right Perk: Bait and Switch, Elemental Honing
PvP God Roll
While Sniper Rifles are a preferred option for some players in PvP, Praedyth’s Revenge does not fall into that category. Its perks and frame do not hold up as viable PvP options. The perks to look out for in PvP are Discord and Opening Shot. Discord is the only option in the left column that aids PvP players, while Opening Shot is a premier PvP Sniper Rifle Perk. Stability and handling are the name of the game to boost the strength of Sniper Rifles in PvP. Once again, we take Fluted Barrel but pair it with Steady Rounds and a Stability Masterwork to improve these stats.
- Barrel: Fluted Barrel
- Magazine: Steady Rounds
- Masterwork: Stability
- Left Perk: Discord
- Right Perk: Opening Shot
Attaining Praedyth’s Revenge
Praedyth’s Revenge drops from two encounters in the Vault of Glass Raid: the Oracles and Atheon encounters. As with all encounters in the raid, three weapons drop from it, so a Praedyth’s Revenge is not guaranteed. Players can guarantee a crafted weapon pattern should they pick up the quest from Suraya Hawthorne and access the chest at the end of the raid. The adept version drops from completing the Oracles Challenge on the Master difficulty of Vault of Glass. While Vault of Glass is on rotation this week, players are encouraged to spend their time farming this high-tier Sniper Rifle.
