Destiny 2: Prophet of Doom God Roll Guide

Destiny 2 just refreshed the loot pool of the Garden of Salvation Raid with the launch of Episode Revenant. This allowed all 7 of the weapons in the Raid to get new perks, a new Origin Trait, and be Craftable. Prophet of Doom is a weapon of the set and is now amazing in both PvE and PvP sandboxes. The Origin Trait of these weapons is called Photoinhibition. It allows the weapons to deal bonus damage to combatants’ shields. Breaking the shield of enemies also disorients them.

Prophet of Doom is a Precision Frame Shotgun in Destiny 2. It has Arc affinity and has access to perks which makes it synergize well with the Arc subclass. Precision Frame Shotguns are also the best archetype for both PvE and PvP. Their pellet pattern makes them accurate and reliable in The Crucible.

Prophet of Doom comes with 14 perk options. This weapon has Reconstruction, Threat Detector, Air Trigger, Threat Remover, Slideways, Envious Arsenal, and Pugilist in the left column. This weapon has access to Voltshot, Closing Time, Cascade Point, Opening Shot, One-Two Punch, Trench Barrel, and Barrel Constrictor in the right column.

PvE God Roll

For PvE, players want to boost the Range as well as the Reload Speed of Prophet of Doom. Players should go for Corkscrew Rifling as the Barrel perk, Light Mag as the Magazine option, and a Reload Speed Masterwork. In the left column, Reconstruction is the best perk to have, as it will automatically reload the weapon up to double its capacity. This is a great perk to have that synergizes well with other damage-dealing perks.

In the right column, One-Two Punch is one of the best perks for Shotguns that greatly increases the damage of the Melee abilities, provided all the pellets of the Shotgun shot land. This is a great perk for Melee builds. However, if players are not using Melee builds they can go for Trench Barrel. Landing a Melee allows the weapon with this perk to gain bonus damage for the next three shots.

  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling
  • Magazine: Light Mag
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed
  • Left Perk: Reconstruction
  • Right Perk: One-Two Punch

PvP God Roll

For The Crucible, players want to focus on getting the Range as high as possible on Prophet of Doom. This can be achieved by using Smallbore as the Barrel perk, Accurized Rounds as the Magazine option, and a Range Masterwork. In the left column, Threat Detector is the best perk for this weapon. It allows it to gain more Handling, Stability, and Reload Speed when enemies are nearby.

In the right column, there are two perks that players should consider. Closing Time increases the Range, Accuracy, and Handling of the weapon when the magazine is low. This is quite easy to take advantage of in The Crucible as there is not much ammo. Another perk to consider is the Opening Shot. It greatly increases the Range and Accuracy of the opening shot of the duel.

  • Barrel: Smallbore
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Masterwork: Range
  • Left Perk: Threat Detector
  • Right Perk: Closing Time, Opening Shot
