Destiny 2 has just released its annual summer event called the Solstice. Solstice event came with its own set of armor pieces for Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans, as well as four weapons. Out of these four weapons, three are returning weapons featuring brand-new perk combinations, and one weapon is brand-new. All these weapons come with their own Origin Trait called Dream Work. Something New is an Aggressive Frame Hand Cannon with Stasis affinity. Aggressive Frame Hand Cannons are extremely popular in Crucible thanks to their high damage and are quite decent in PvE as well. This Hand Cannon has some amazing perk combinations that make it extremely good in both PvE and PvP. All of these perks also pair well with the weapon’s Origin Trait. This weapon also comes with 14 perks options, 7 in the left column and 7 in the right.
In the left column, we have perk options like Rapid Hit, Feeding Frenzy, Subsistence, To the Pain, Elemental Capacitor, Demolitionist, and Snapshot Sights. In the right column, we have perk options like Explosive Payload, Headstone, Frenzy, Kill Clip, Precision Instrument, Wellspring, and Vorpal Weapon. This weapon also comes with another Origin Trait called Nadir Focus. It allows the weapon to gain a bonus range and accuracy when you keep firing it.
Something New PvE God Roll
Something New is a Stasis weapon, so the perk Headstone is its main appeal. This archetype of Hand Cannons also suffers from extremely slow Reload Speed; therefore, players want to boost it as much as possible. Players can choose Corkscrew Rifling as the Barrel option, Flared Magwell as the Magazine option, or a Reload Speed masterwork. In the left column, there are not many interesting options other than Demolitionist. It is an amazing perk that grants Grenade energy upon kills.
In the right column, there are plenty of options that players can use based on their likings. If players want a Stasis synergy, the Headstone is the perk for that. Headstone creates a Stasis crystal upon getting a Precision kill. Wellspring exists, which synergizes well with Headstone, providing extra ability energy. Frenzy is also an extremely good perk option if players want a damage boost as well as maximum Reload Speed.
Something New PvP God Roll
For The Crucible, players want to boost Range as much as possible. This can be achieved by using a Range masterwork, Hammer-Forged Rifling as the Barrel option, and Accurized Rounds as the Magazine option. In the left column of perks, there are two options. Rapid Hit provides bonus handling and stability upon every precision hit, and Snapshot Sights greatly reduces aim downsight speed.
In the right column, Precision Instrument is extremely good. It provides bonus damage upon every hit with the weapon, greatly relaxing the weapon’s time to kill. This perk also pairs well with Rapid Hit and the Origin Trait of Something New. Another option that players can consider is Explosive Payload, which increases the weapon’s damage falloff and causes opponents to flinch.

Something New is a returning Solstice weapon with some amazing perk combinations. It is obtainable from Eva Levante by focusing or by playing the Bonfire Bash activity, which is exclusive to Solstice. For PvE, players will want the God Roll of Demolitionist and Headstone.
