Destiny 2: Summum Bonum God Roll Guide

Salvation’s Edge is the latest Raid in Destiny 2 The Final Shape expansion and is one of the most challenging and rewarding activities that Bungie has ever created. It features a new set of armor for Warlocks, Titans, and Hunters as well as 7 new weapons. Out of these weapons, 6 are Legendary and 1 is an Exotic. All of these weapons are incredible and have some amazing perk options. These weapons also come with a Raid exclusive Origin Trait called Collective Purpose which boosts Range and Handling of the weapons when allies are nearby. For a Sword, it increases the Charge Rate.

Summum Bonum is the first-ever Wave Sword Frame weapon to ever exist in Destiny 2. This frame allows the swords to launch a heavy attack which releases a wave of energy that damages enemies and launches the player into the air. While in the air, the player can do a light attack to form a lunging attack at the nearest enemy combatant. This is an interesting weapon archetype with a lot of crowd-control potential.

Summum Bonum has Arc affinity and comes with 14 perk options. In the left column, it has Tireless Blade, Relentless Strikes, Duelist’s Trance, Attrition Orbs, Unrelenting, Deconstruct, and Strategist. In the right column, players have perk options like Chaos Reshaped, Chain Reaction, Bait and Switch, Whirlwind Blade, Surrounded, One for All, and Vorpal Weapon.

Summum Bonum PvE God Roll

For PvE, players want to boost the Impact of the Sword as much as possible as it directly increases the damage of the weapon. For this purpose, players should use Jagged Edge as it increases the Impact of the sword by +4 and an Impact Masterwork. Balanced Guard is also the best Guard option to have on any Sword as it provides a decent distribution to every stat of the weapon. In the left and right columns, players should go for perks that provide the maximum damage output.

In the left column, there are no damage-boosting perks but players do have the option of Relentless Strikes. Relentless Strikes allows that when landing three-light attacks in quick succession, players are refunded some ammo for the weapon. This is a must-have as players will be doing attacks with light attacks in boss damage phases anyway so an ammo refund equals more damage that players can do.

In the right column, there are several damage-boosting perks available. Chaos Reshaped is an incredible Raid exclusive perk. It boosts damage to 35 percent but it also requires you to be in combat for 12 seconds. So in scenarios where players can maintain this perk, it is the way to go. Bait and Switch also provide similar damage buff and players can use it in scenarios where Chaos Reshaped may not work. This perk however requires you to deal damage with every single weapon to activate it.

Another final damage perk that players should consider in Surrounded. Surrounded provides the highest damage boost of 45 percent but it requires the condition of three or more combatants to be in nearby vicinity. In the boss damage phases where players are nearby, this perk is incredible and the best choice. However, in most scenarios, this perk will not be active and players will lose all of their damage.

Conclusion

Summum Bonum is the first-ever Wave Sword Frame Arc Sword and has some amazing perk options for different playstyles. Relentless Strikes in the left column is the best option which pairs incredibly well with any of the damage perks in the right column. It is an incredibly unique weapon worthy of a slot in every Guardian’s vault.
