Diablo 4 has managed to hold a fairly active player base since it released over a year ago. With seasonal content and constant tweaking of the gameplay, Blizzard Interactive is finding ways to keep things fresh for their players. Now, there is a full-blown expansion in the pipeline called ‘Vessel of Hatred‘ dropping October 8th. Even though this expansion is the campaign’s continuation, it ushers in some new surprises.
It will continue the story of Neyrelle, as she tries to find a way to free herself from the burden of carrying Mephisto. This expansion will open up a whole new region on the map called ‘Nahuntu.’ A lush, green inferno teeming with new adventures and threats. With it, comes a new class called a ‘Spiritborn.’ Which is turning heads with seasoned Diablo 4 players alike.
The Spiritborn Is Sparking New Interest
So, who is the Spiritborn? They are highly spiritual warriors and natives of the Nahuntu jungle. They also come with the ability to summon four different spiritual guardians in battle. They are the; Kwati (Eagle), Rezoka (Jaguar), Wumba (Gorilla), and Balazan (Centipede). This class is inspired by the Mayan and Aztec civilizations of South America, which is a very popular motif throughout pop culture. There really is no other class like this in Diablo 4 and it is difficult to compare it.
With this expansion’s tropical setting, this class is a perfect compliment to try Diablo 4, again. The Spiritborn class is essentially a hybrid between Barbarian and Sorcerer. So, there is a universal appeal to this character. Players who have maxed out all the base classes in Diablo 4 felt that they were “painted into a corner.” There are only so many places to explore in Sanctuary and things were getting stale regardless of seasonal content.
Secrets of the Jungle
The Nahuntu Jungle and Spiritborn class will also come with some new features. All of which will make Diablo 4 feel like a new game. Players will be able to recruit mercenaries, which will upgrade and get stronger along with the player. New towns, loot, and tribes will also be available to find. Thus, there will also be a new dungeon, which is designed strictly for co-op. It will act as an epic PVE event where players must team up to fight multiple levels of pain together.
If nothing else, the fact that the ‘Vessel of Hatred‘ expansion continues the story is enough to pique the interest of players who finished the campaign. The campaign ended on somewhat of a cliffhanger. Seeing what Neyrelle will do with the soulstone that Mephisto is trapped in will entice many players to come back to Diablo 4. Affeciendos of this title have been waiting for a new class and they are finally getting one.
Heart of Hell
Since its launch, there have been rumors of some kind of “Paladin” class coming to Diablo 4. Even though that hasn’t happened yet, the Spiritborn is just as interesting to try out as any other class. The aforementioned ‘Spiritual Guardians’ can be used to blend in with the Spiritborn’s overall fighting style. Players will be able to mix and match their traits through a new skills tree that’s associated with the spirits.
The Spiritborn is a malleable class, which players can turn into either a; tank, light-footed warrior, or a hybrid of something else. It will be entirely up to them on what they will want their Spiritborn to be. This class is unique to Diablo and more players en masse are coming back to check this out. Trying out this new warrior will be fresh air for many players and the entire Diablo community is in dire need of something truly new. As opposed to just another Season exploring dungeons and fighting bosses.
