While the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released on June 5th of this year, fans will have to wait a little longer for Donkey Kong Bananza. The game will be released on July 17 of this year. During the Direct, fans got a great look at what the new game has to offer. One of the most notable aspects fans immediately noticed about the trailer was the 3D platformer gameplay. The franchise has had a slew of successful side-scrolling adventures like Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. The trailer showed there will still be some of those elements but there would be a 3D world to explore as well.
Nintendo is no stranger to this type of game. Super Mario 3D World was one of the most successful titles in the franchise, and the company has made many successful games in the Mario franchise set in a 3D world. The trailer gave us plenty to look at, showcasing new worlds, enemies, and gameplay. Players will have to smash and climb their way around the underground world.
