At noon on August 15, 2023, BioWare divulged the game’s official release window via their YouTube channel. The two-minute and fifty-five-second cinematic trailer garnered a live audience numbering in the tens of thousands of concurrent exuberant Dragon Age fans. Boasting a who’s who of legendary cameos from iconic game characters. The trailer begins with our originally believed antagonist, Solas, castigating the player for unleashing the “blighted Elven gods” upon the land of Thedas, accompanied by in-game footage.

Morrigan steps in to continue where Solas leaves off, explaining the insurmountable destiny that you are now faced with via voice-over. Varric chimes in to give Rook a pep talk, telling them, “Rook, you’ve got this. I’ve seen your work. You’re clever, adaptable, and you don’t know when to quit.” Throughout the trailer, players are gifted with a cornucopia of shots from in-game that players will see soon.

Highlighting beautiful locals such as Tevinter, the Grand Necropolis in Nevarra, the arid landscape of the Anderfels, underwater locals, underground dungeons, ruined ancient temples, and so much more. Alongside all of this splendor, several characters make an appearance in the cinematic. Including our titular storyteller Varric, our companions, and, in a highlight to many, Morrigan -sporting her new, and arguably most interesting, look.
