- Animal Companion: Summon a loyal wolf or hawk to aid in battle. The companion shall distract enemies, hammering away at them for steady damage over time.
- Bear Trap: Can be placed down to hinder movement for a specific period to allow the Ranger to get into position and unleash arrows on his unsuspecting opponent.
Warlock
Another class that draws similarities to its Dungeons and Dragons roots. The Warlock is adept at shadowy magic, drawing on eldritch powers to destroy his enemies. Warlocks have deep connections with the demonic, the Warlock is capable of doing considerable damage while crippling enemies with curses and debuffs. This class is for players looking to battle with the power of demonic energy.
Core Abilities:
- Shadowbolt: This is the simpler yet very strong spell flinging shadow energy bolt at the target. Shadowbolt is a large-damage dealing spell with the added effect of applying a curse on the enemy to reduce their defense for a short period.
- Pact of the Damned: The Warlock exchanges some of his health to summon a demon from the nether realms. The summoned demon will join with the Warlock in battle, it can be controlled to tank for the warlock. By sacrificing some of the warlock’s health the demon will pulse with demonic energy causing area of effect damage.
Interchangeable Abilities:
- Curse of Shadows: Places a lingering curse on the target, haunting the target and causing continuous damage over time. The longer the curse is up on a target, the stronger this damage grows until its final tick of damage releases a pool of dark shadow energy on the ground. This pool can spread the curse to nearby wanderers.
- Pact of Suffering: Surround yourself with three dark energy runes. When hit with any source of damage a demonic imp is summoned that has a ranged shadow attack. This can occur every thirty seconds or until all charges are consumed.
Necromancer
The Necromancer would be an excellent addition in Dungeonborne to represent the dark summoner class, which magically controls life and death. It creates minions from the dead and infects enemies with debilitating curses. This class is capable of smothering enemies with armies of skeletons, draining the life force from his foes. This class will appeal to players who enjoy a more controlled game style.
Core Abilities:
- Raise Skeletons: A group of skeletal warriors rises from the ground, targeting any enemy selected by the Necromancer. These minions may swarm, providing both damage and a shield against incoming damage.
- Life Drain: Channel dark magic to drain the life force of a targeted enemy. Restores health while dealing damage over time. The longer this channeled ability is, the more life is regained, making this quite an interesting ability to sustain during combat.
Interchangeable Abilities:
- Bone Armor: Envelop yourself in an armor of bones that absorbs damage and then has additional defense. When it shatters, it explodes, damaging nearby enemies.
- Plague of Decay: Inflict a deadly plague on a targeted area, which extends to other targets after some time. Affected targets suffer reduced healing and increased damage from all sources, so the ability is overwhelmingly effective in prolonged encounters. If the targets are within the area too long they suffer minor slowing effects as well.
