The Duskbloods by FromSoftware has gained significant attention since its debut at Nintendo Direct. While fans patiently wait for more information on the newest title exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2, game director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, confirms there will be more than a dozen playable characters. Each of the playable characters will feature unique lore and personalities suited for their role. If there is one dire aspect FromSoftware consistently delivers on, it’s class diversity. Although there will be no physical character customization in this entry, it seems redundant given how intricately detailed the developers have presented the Bloodsworn.
Blood Customization System
Although not quite as personalized as we’re used to, there will be a new system called “blood history and fate”. So, even though appearances can’t change, this system can alter traits, abilities, and narrative roles. This type of customization is interesting because it will allow nuance and flexibility without sacrificing the character’s identity.
“One thing I love doing in any game I direct is leaving fragments of lore and worldbuilding details, allowing the player the fun of using their imagination to make connections,” Miyazaki said in an interview with Nintendo.
Distinct Weapons and Abilities
Each Bloodsworn will possess unique supernatural abilities paired with a trademark weapon, including close-range and long-range options. Players will also have the ability to summon NPC allies during combat, similar to Elden Ring’s Spirit Ashes.
