MSI 2025 Opening Day

MSI 2025 Day 11 Preview: The LCK Final Fans Were Denied

The LCK format this year denied a best-of-five series between GenG Esports and T1. The Korean teams noticed this and had to meet each other at MSI. GenG enters this match with 21 straight series victories. The LCK first seed was dominant in the regular season, but has yet to find that form at MSI. T1, on the other hand, looked shaky in their first series, but improved drastically to dominate Bilibili Gaming.

MSI Day Eleven Schedule

The LCK giants face off at 5:00 pm PST (2:00 am CET, July 10th).

Domestic Versus International

Doran is notorious for dropping the ball at internationals, despite being dominant in the LCK. In 2025, he struggled to find form domestically until the Road to MSI. At MSI so far, international Doran has yet to appear. Coming against GenG and Kiin, Doran will need to bring his Domestic self for T1 to win this series. T1 also struggles against GenG domestically, having only won their first series in the LCK in three years during the LCK Cup this year. Internationally, it has been different, with T1 winning the last two series (MSI 2023 and Worlds 2024).

GenG Esports 3 – 2 T1

Little has come in the way of GenG’s dominance this year. Their last series loss was to Hanwha Life Esports in the LCK Cup Final. T1 looked formidable against BLG, but GenG is a different beast. LCK teams are known for improving as the tournament progresses, so the expectation is that both teams will level up in this series. Individually, the battles should rage, with the only significant gap being in the Support role. GenG has the better macro, but T1 has the clutch teamfighting and international magic on their side. The series could go either way, but it should be a close contest until the end.

How the Day Will Impact Proceedings

Fortunately for both teams, it is not an elimination series. The winner moves on to the Grand Final for a chance at the MSI title. The loser drops down to the Lower Bracket to await the loser of BLG and Anyone’s Legend. Ultimately, the Lower Bracket Final will be an LCK versus LPL match. A potential rematch is on the cards, depending on who is in that series.
