ADC Gumayusi Leaves T1 After a Successful Career
After winning a third straight Worlds title, T1 is making another roster change. Long-time ADC and recent finals MVP, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong, is parting ways with the Korean organisation. The announcement marks the end of seven years spent with T1. It will be the first time in his pro career that he represents a different team. His next team is yet to be announced.
T1 and Gumayusi Part Ways
Throughout the offseason, rumors circulated regarding Gumayusi’s future on T1. He, alongside Choi “Doran” Hyeon-jun, had one-year contracts with the org for 2025. T1 announced today that the famous ADC will not be resigning with the team. During his time, Gumayusi won Worlds three times and won the LCK in the first Split with the famous ZOFGK roster.
Gumayusi becomes the second of two players from the ZOFGK roster to leave T1. Choi “Zeus” Woo-je left the team last year, being replaced by Doran. Gumayusi also formed part of one of the deadliest bot lane duos, with Ryu “Keria” Min-seok.
Gumayusi Overcame Struggles
Gumayusi had a tumultuous 2025. The year began with the ADC being benched in favor of Sin “Smash” Guem-jae. After much drama, Gumayusi was restored to the starting lineup, where he would stay for the rest of the year. He faced constant pressure and attacks from T1gal, but still managed to help T1 qualify for MSI and the World Championship. They would finish runner-up to GenG Esports at MSI, but emerged victorious at Worlds. Gumayusi was named the finals MVP and was presented the award by Jian “Uzi” Zhao.
Peyz Rumoured to Replace Gumayusi
Sheep Esports has reported that Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan is the replacement for Gumayusi. Peyz is a rising star from the GenG academy. He won LCK Spring and MSI in his first professional year on GenG’s main roster. He spent 2025 on JD Gaming. He would not qualify for any international events, but stood out as the outstanding player on the roster. Replacing Gumayusi will come with pressure, but Peyz has the caliber to do so.
Doran Re-signs
While Gumayusi will not be a part of T1 next year, the top laner, Doran will be. The LCK top laner has re-signed for an additional year of winning Worlds for the first time. Doran joins Mun “Oner Hyeon-jun, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and Keria on the roster.
