Invictus Gaming Worlds 2025

Worlds 2025: Invictus Gaming an Early T1 Victim

The Worlds run for Invictus Gaming ended before it started. They had the unfortunate task of playing against T1 in the Play-In series. They were not the favorites to win the match, but many expected them to challenge T1. Evaluating their performance is significantly more challenging than the rest of the teams at Worlds. The individual performance will tell us if they performed admirably in the Play-In series.

Worlds 2025: Invictus Gaming Player Review

TheShy

Total Apex rating – 4.0 (19th among top laners, 88th among all players)

Champions Played

  • Rek’Sai
  • Rumble
  • Sion
  • Varus

TheShy had a Rek’Sai game to forget in the Play-In series. After a failed tower dive, he allowed T1 to find the angle back. He had a solid Sion game, but his Rumble and Varus had little contribution. The series encapsulated TheShy’s year; he was dominant at times, costly at others.

Wei

Total Apex rating – 7.0 (1st among junglers, 3rd among players)

Champions Played

  • Pantheon
  • Qiyana
  • Vi
  • Wukong

Wei’s high rating is due to his limited playing time. His Wukong helped IG to win a game against T1. The rest of the series, he remained solid. His mistake in game three, getting caught by Baron, cost IG. However, if IG were in the Swiss Stage, it is likely his rating would drop. Wei performed better than expected going into Worlds.

Rookie

Total Apex rating – 6.3 (tied 5th among mid laners, tied 22nd among players)

Champions Played

  • Hwei
  • Orianna
  • Ryze
  • Sylas

Rookie had a stable series. He was rarely the reason for IG’s struggles. His Hwei performance was underwhelming. Heading into Worlds, many doubted whether Rookie could perform. He proved those doubts wrong, but it was not enough to help IG over the line.

GALA

Total Apex rating – 6.5 (5th among bot laners, 19th among players)

Champions Played

  • Caitlyn
  • Corki
  • Smolder
  • Ziggs

Similar to Rookie, GALA was stable throughout. He rarely had a terrible performance in the series. He struggled to match up to the clutch plays of T1. GALA was expected to be the best player on IG coming into Worlds. He may have a lower rating than Wei, but that does not tell his story.

Meiko

Total Apex rating – 4.8 (15th among supports, 79th among players)

Champions Played

  • Karma
  • Leona
  • Nautilus
  • Neeko

Meiko had a series to forget. He, alongside TheShy, was the cause of IG’s downfall at Worlds. He did not have as many horrible moments as TheShy; he rarely contributed to IG. Meiko has the history, but he performed as expected.

Invictus Gaming Team Review

Overall, IG performed better than expected. Playing up against T1, fans believed that they would crash out, similar to Top Esports. They managed to make the series competitive. Game one was theirs, and game three ended because of a Wei mistake. IG could have done damage during the Swiss Stage and even the Bracket Stage with the performance. However, they had the fate of meeting T1 in the Play-In.
